We all at some point have what we call the "backseat driver" riding with us in the car. You know that person who says to slow down, hands on the wheel, turn right, turn left, and the remarks go on and on. Well, I never in a million years thought that my 2 year-old would be a backseat driver at her age already.
Lately, she has become very familiar with her surroundings when traveling and when we drive to school, Grandma and Grandpa's house, or even church she can tell you how to get there. She will say things like "turn that way" and point her finger in the direction she wants me to go. If I go a different way, she will correct me and say "no Mommy it is that way, turn that way." At least, she will not be lost, right?
Well, Sunday we were on our way to church and she yells at me from the back at the top of her lungs. "MOMMY, RED LIGHT! RED MEANS STOP REMEMBER! GO BACK RIGHT NOW AND STOP!" I started to crack up laughing. I did not run a red light, so do not worry. On the way, there is a blinking yellow light across the highway to get people to slow down when passing a business. She thought we had stop at the light and was very upset that I was not obeying the rules of the road. What a hoot!
Oh, and now she is also on seat belt patrol so you better buckle up!
