Rain, Rain, Go Away...

All I can say is thank goodness the rain has finally stopped. It seems as if since I have been out of school all it has done is either rain or look like it could rain. I am so glad we are passed that and we can enjoy the swimming pool and summer.

Josie loves to be outdoors so keeping her cooped up inside with a pool is like keeping a dog in a cage all day with a bone outside of it.

It was an episode of Wizard of Oz. Josie's house to a tumbling. Her house went across part of the yard and fell into pieces from the wind. WOW!

Rain Rain go away...

THUNDER!!!

What am I going to do all day cooped up inside??? MAKE A HUGE MESS!

3 Stones not 1!

Ok, so I went to the doctors today for my follow up appointment on the dreaded stones. I came in with the stone in the tube I was given and the doctor took one look at it and goes "that is not a kidney stone." WHAT!!! He took another look and said "I have been doing this for many many years and that does not look like a kidney stone." Then what on gods green earth is it. He sent it out to be analyzed. Who knows he said maybe it is one, but it just looks different.

So, that did not start out my visit very well. We then went to look at the CT report from the hospital. He put it up on a big computer screen and talked me though the entire scan and read and gave me a copy of the report. Both the report and CT shows that yes I had a stone right out of the gate of the left kidney just starting its voyage. However, what the ER neglected to tell me and the CT and report both indicate it is that there are 2 MORE STONES still resting in my left kidney. That means I had/have a total of 3 stones, not just 1. WHAT!!! One of them is fairly small and the other measures 4 mm. If it was a 5 mm they would do a procedure to break it up/remove it. 5 mm is the largest you can pass. So great, I am not Scott free yet like I thought.

I have to do a 24 urine analyze in which they will run 6 different tests to see what is going on. Why I have so many stones, what is causing the stones, and why perhaps only my left kidney.

I just hope that these darn things don't decide to move when I am vacationing. That would be my luck.

If the other 2 stones have not passed in about 6-8 months they are doing to do something to get things moving, but it is a last resort. The longer they sit in the kidney the bigger they become. Great, I know!

In Need of a Porta-potty!

Josie has learned that it is ok on special occasions to go to the bathroom outside. It all started when we were at Brent's friends, Walter's house. Walter is doing some major remodeling to a house that he bought. When I say remodeling I mean it is to the bear bones. It is all down to the studs and does not have a working toilet. When we were visiting one day, Josie said she had to go potty, so in the yard she had to go. From that point on, her potty experiences have changed. Now, she likes to go outside a lot. Any time that she is outdoors, she thinks it is ok to go in the yard when it is not. We have had a little talk about when we can and can not go in the yard.

For example, we told her that if she is swimming it is ok to go in the yard that way she does not drag water all through the house. So, when we are swimming at Debbie and Terry's she goes over by the clothesline and goes. She knows the rules #1 ok #2 go inside. Well, my rule breaker of a girl did not like that rule.

We were swimming last week and she said she had to go potty. In a matter of say 2 hours, she can go potty like 5 times. Anyways, she told Debbie she had to go and she got her out. Minutes later, she told her she had to poop. When Debbie told her to go inside she piped up "I already went poop Grandma!" WHAT!!! Josie had went #2 in the yard like a dog. Gross Josie!

Perhaps, we need to invest in an outdoor porta-potty. Next time, that you are at Debbie and Terry's all I can say is WATCH YOUR STEP!

No More Stones

Hallelujah, my stone is gone. I came home all drugged up on Wednesday and by late evening I was feeling better. Thursday, I felt 10 times better. Better enough to go and get my hair done. I know what you are thinking, but I had to wait 2 weeks for this appointment so if I could go I was going. Well, today I passed the stone first thing this morning. (To Much Information I know) I have a follow up appointment on Monday with a urologist who if I did not take the Monday appointment it would be until July 19th. That is not really following up I told the lady on the phone so Monday to the doctors I go.

Splash!

On Thursday, we ventured to listen to my brother-in-laws band rock out. We had a blast! They are so good. The kids got to ride on some carnival rides. Man, I loved doing that as a child. Now, I don't think my stomach could handle carnie rides. Josie ate a huge Hawaiian Shaved Ice (AKA. Snow Cone). Let me just tell you I had a bite and it was the nastiest one that I have ever had. But as I say, she is a garbage disposal and will eat almost anything all the time. We ended up staying until about 11:15 PM. It was way passed her bedtime, but she was having to much fun and so were we to stop the hopp'n party. She danced the night away. Before we left, she said "Mom I have to wear a pretty dress to dance in. I have to spin!" So, she picked out her own attire for the evening.

I think she is danced out here!

Kidney Stones

Wednesday was a day I will never forget. For the last few days on and off, I was feeling a little under the weather. I was not sure what was going on, but just knew I did not feel well. Things changed Wednesday morning. I had went to be Tuesday evening very early for me due to not feeling well. I woke up Wednesday feeling better but not 100%. At around 10:30 AM, I was getting ready to take Josie to swim lessons and I was froze dead in my tracks. The pain I was having in my stomach had now moved to my back and was beyond hurting. Josie ran downstairs to Brent where he was asleep on the couch since he had to work the night before and Josie was in his spot when he got home in our bed. She told Brent "Mommy's sick she needs to go to the hospital. Now!" I could hear her yelling this at Brent and just laughed. Not once did any of those words come out of my mouth other than "Mommy doesn't feel well" when I told her that we were not be able to go to lessons. I guess the seeing me bent over in pain was enough for her.

Brent convinced me to head in to the hospital because he thought I had kidney stones. We got to the hospital at about 11:30 AM. They made me sit in the waiting room for about 15-20 minutes. During this time, I was in and out of the bathroom throwing up because of the pain. Brent told me it was ridiculous I had to wait and was in so much pain and went up to talk to the lady at the desk. Within about 5-10 minutes I was in a room being administered pain medicine. I had blood work done (5 tubes in all), urine sample, and a CT scan. The results were back really quick. The results showed that I did in fact have a kidney stone and high levels of blood in my urine.

They were supper nice to me in the ER. I told the doctor at one point that people compare having kidney stones with having a child. You know this is how women can compare the pain we go through to have their child. Well, I told the doctor that I would rather have a child then a kidney stone any day. You want to know why?

1. With having a child, you get better pain meds so you feel nothing for the most part. Got to love that epidural. I am not saying that vicidine for kidney stones does not do the trick but it is no epidural.

2. With having a child, you get something good at the end (a child). Compared to a stone that has to be taken in and analyzed.

3. With having a child, you know the end of the pain is insight and last for a short amount of time (depending on the person maybe up to 24 hours). With a kidney stone it could take hours, weeks, or even months to pass depending.

I am sure that I can come up with other reasons, but those were the main three. So, they drugged me up again before I lef the ER and was headed home at 2:30 PM. What a really quick trip that was. Got to big doses of pain meds before I left and vicodin to take at home. I was in heaven!

I have to take an anti-biotic due to all the blood in my urine, drink lots of fluids, strain my urine (I know to much information), and take vicodin when needed. The only bad thing is that when on the vicodin I can not feed the little man, so I have to pump and then dump. Hopefully it passes soon. They said it was a 2 and up to 5 is passable, so I am left to do it on my own and follow up with a doctor next week.

Brent just said it was an excuse for him to not play cards, well I would take him playing cards then me having this dumb stone any day.

Josie kept doctoring me all night because I had this bracelet still on and my owie. She would kiss my owie, tell me "everything will be fine sugar pie," get me water, and would rub my back. What a good nurse I have!

4 Month Doctors Appointment

Can you tell he was not that excited to head to the doctor's office.

We ventured to see the doctor for Ogdan's 4-month check-up. Our little man is growing like a weed. He is getting so big so fast. I can not believe he is already this old. Where has the time gone?

He has already by far passed where Josie was at this stage in her life. He is:

Head - 41.6 cm - 29%-tile (grew around 2 cm in 2 months)
Height - 25 1/4 inches - 58%-tile (Grew just shy of 3 inches in 2 months)
Weight - 14 pounds 14 ounces - 45%-tile (he gained about 4 pounds in 2 months)(he has a thing about double digits I think. Last time, he weighed 10 10 and this time it is 14 14. Weird!)

I know what a little moose my big guy is becoming. He was such a big guy for the doctor. I could hardly hold on to him he was so squirmy and excited to see the doctor. I really love our Ped and by the looks of it Ogdan did too.

He had to get a total of 3 shots and one oral medication. Yuck! I will be calling the doctor though come next week because where one of his shots was is hard. He does not like you to touch it. It feels painful when you feel the lump. I hope everything is ok and they just say something about it being given in the muscle that is why it is hard. When they gave him the shots he was not a happy camper. He had fallen asleep while waiting for the nurse to come and administer the shots, so she ended up waking him up from his little snooze which did not make him happy and then stuck him. He cried real tears and then wanted to cuddle with his Mommy. After a few minutes, he was back to his old happy self again. What a brave and strong little guy he is.

He did very well all day. He was a little sleepy, but not crabby or anything like that. We did not have to even give him Tylenol. Wow! That is just great!

Daddy Day Fun in the Sun

(Jacob, Papa Dave, Josie)

For Daddy Day, we ventured over to my Dad's Girlfriend's house, Becky's for a cook out and fun in the sun. We ate way to much food and did a whole lot of swimming. It was a blast. We all swam in pool, got caught up on how things were going with everyone, and had a great time. My Aunt Linda who I have not seen in years even came. It was so nice to see her again. It is so sad that even though you live close to family you do not always see them. Grandpa and Grandma came also which was great. The whole clan was there for the most part and had a great time.

The kids really enjoyed swimming in the pool. It was like pulling teeth to get them to get out, but we managed to. They were extremely sleepy after a long day in the sun and water.

Thanks for having us over Dad and Becky it was fun!

What a ham you are Miss Presley!

Wouldn't it be nice just to sit back relax and let someone old you while you floated around the pool?!
