Fawns

I would never thought that I would have the pleasure of saying...WE HAVE TWINS! Twin fawns that is.

On Saturday, I was being lazy floating in the swimming pool when I looked down the yard and was surprised to see a baby deer laying down in the shade. Much to my surprise however there was not just one, but two. Twins. They were so adorable. I quickly got out of the pool and to get the camera I went. They played in the garden knocking down the electric fence, hopped around the yard, just having a good old time.

So, you can only imagine the shock that I got today. We do not just have twins, no but TRIPLETS!!!!!

The dog was going crazy this afternoon, when I looked out the front window and found this.....

They were standing in the driveway. We have so many deer popping up in the yard throughout the past week that it is crazy.

Having Fun at Aunt Jenny's

(Future Cowboy)

Last weekend after the parade, we enjoyed a little lunch and back to Aunt Jenny's house for a little fun in the sun. After the children awoke from their naps, we had a little fun playing in the backyard. Here are a few photos of our fun day.

Dancing fool. Only underwear and tennis shoes, what a hoot!

We start them young in our family.
Already he is drinking and driving.
This will be an excellent newspaper photo when he turns 16!

Already a young underwear model.

I'm swinging with the dolphins. Who would have thought?!

Family Reunion

Great-Great Grandchildren (Brady, Everton, Tristan, Jacob, Josie)
Not pictured is Katie who lives out of state and could not be there
On Monday, we ventured over to Grandma Grace's house for a little family reunion. My cousin Chris and his family were in town from out of state. I had not seen Chris in years, as well as Grandma and everyone else. He flew home for a day or two when my Mother and Grandfather passed away, but other than that it was years before I had seen him. He has three adorable children, ages 8, 4, and 2. I had only met the oldest, but he was only 1 when I saw him. We had so much fun. Here are a few photos from our visit.

Grandma was in hog heaven and loved every minute of it.

Josie just loves her Great-Grandma Grace! Especially when she lets her swing with her.

Hey!
Dad and his Grandchildren
It was so nice to see everyone all together. It meant so much to me to see everyone. After my Grandfather and my Mom died, I thought our family would grow closer together. We each need each other more than ever. But for a variety of different reasons it seems like our family has drifted apart. Which deeply saddens me. I guess when several of those you love pass, something just is missing that makes it hard to keep it together. I just hope that everyone knows FAMILY COMES FIRST!! If you do not have your family, you have nothing. It is my hope that in the future we have more of these family gathering.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Row, Row, Row your boat

Gently down the stream

Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily

Life is but a dream

On Saturday after the parade, Jamie, Jason, and Jacob came over for an afternoon in the sun. We floated on rafts and drank Margaritas, while the children rowed around in their boat. It was so cute to have them both be floating together. At first, Jacob thought the water was a little cold and let us know, but Josie quickly whipped off his tears and told him everything was going to be ok. (See photos below)
It's ok Jacob.

Let me get that tear for you.

Just being lazy in the sun.

First Parade

"If for any reason the winner can not fulfill her duties, the first runner up will take over her duties..." (or something like that)

One Saturday, Josie was in her very first parade. She received her very own float in the "Splash" parade for getting runner up. She loved every minute of it, as you can tell from the photos. She and I rode in a 2 seater convertible. Lets just say that was the first and last time probably that she or I will ever ride in a car that was that expensive. The sticker value on the car was over $60,000. Yes, $60,000. I asked the driver who was borrowing the car for the parade. Here are a few of the many photos from the parade.

"Hey, thanks for voting!"

(Josie doing her future Miss Universe wave)

I don't know about you, but I think that the contest was a little rigged. Can you honestly tell me that she is not the CUTEST BABY you have ever seen?! Here is the real winner in our book.

She may not be the Cutest Baby right now (according to some), but who knows what will happen in the future. For being her first beauty contest, I say she did excellent. Considering the contest was held in a different town where no one knew who she was. Take a good look at her face, because who knows she may be the next Miss Illinois, no what next Miss America, no what next MISS UNIVERSE!

Thanks to all who voted for her, as well as who came to the parade Saturday to support our little Miss Hollywood (one of Josie's nicknames)! Words can not express how much it meant to Brent, I and especially Josie.

Runner Up

As all of you know from one of my previous posts, Josie was entered into a Cutest Baby Contest. Well, I am proud to announce that she received "RUNNER UP." It is not first, but at least she placed. The contest was held in the next town and was voted by the public. So, I am proud that people who do not even know her think she is cute enough to at least place. For placing, she received a beautiful piggy bank from Halmark and will get to ride in the parade tomorrow. I will post photos from the parade tomorrow.

On behalf of Josie, I would like to thank everyone who voted for our Little Miss Runner Up. And a special BIG THANK YOU to Grandpa Dave (you know why).

ALOHA

As promised from yesterdays posting, here is our little scoop from Saturday night. Saturday afternoon when Brent got home from work we packed up the car and headed an hour away to a surprise 30th party for the daughter of Brent's co-worker. It was a themed party, so we each got all dolled up in our beach attire and headed on our way. Josie of course had to look super cute, so I altered a hola skit I bought to fit her perfect, she wore he itty-bitty bikini, and of course the Hawaiian lay.

We had so much fun at the party. They went all out making a Tiki Hut and everything. Way to go Kymm with all of your hard work and planning. Brent lets just say enjoyed himself way to much, so I ended up having to drive home. We left the party around 2:15 AM. That is right AM!!! I have not been up that late since Josie was a tiny baby and had to get up every 3 hours to eat. She was a trooper. She was up enjoying the party herself until 11:30 PM and then crashed. When she crashed, she really crashed. The party would get loud and she would not even flinch. Poor girl. Party attendees kareokeed, limboed, and even bowled (using a coconut).

We were on our way home, with Brent and Josie both passed out. Obviously, both for different reasons. When I hit a GIANT coyote. Since, the state is not mowing do to lack of money, the weeds along the interstate were about 3 feet tall. This coyote came out of the tall weeds at a dead run. I could not help, but wack it a good one. I did not even see it until it was way to late. If I would have been either driving a few miles per hour faster or slower, I would have missed it altogether. There is no real damage to the car, thank goodness. It bent some things and I need to replace a large plastic piece under the bunmper, but it could have been worse believe me. It ended up getting knocked down and going under the car. You could hear it go from the front to the back. It was gross.

Josie getting her Hawaiian lay and of course a big kiss from Mommy.

Preparing to party!

1st Dad's Day!

Sunday was Brent's first official Dad's Day with Josie being here. He had a little to much fun on Saturday (look for that posting tomorrow for details), so we ended up sleeping in pretty late. We just had a peaceful day at home relaxing and enjoying spending some family time together. We went swimming in the late morning/early afternoon hours that was until it started to get really dark outside. A storm was approaching and very fast. It hit us like a train. You could hear it as it approached closer and closer. Most of the patio furniture flew into the yard, trees were laid down, it was just totally crazy. A baby deer ran down the road one way and then back the other way scared out of its mind before running into the woods. Rain fell at 1/2 an inch in the 15 minutes the storm was here.

We enjoyed dinner at my Dad's house and had a blast with family. We ventured over to Brent's family's to see his Dad on this special day to find them sitting in the dark. They were without power since the storm. After everything there was said and done they were without power for a total of 12 or so hours. Pour guys.

Overall, we had a very special Dad's Day!!

A Little Runt

Thursday, Josie and I ventured into town to go to her 9 month appointment. She was a perfect little angel the entire time. I think part of it was of the fact that I told her before we went in that she would not have to get any shots this time. When I stated that she flashed me a big smile and started to talk. I think she was saying "I love you Mom!" for not making her get any in this doctors trip.

The nurses and of course the doctor just could not get enough of my little runt. Really she is a runt. She was talking with the other patients in the waiting room and to me in the actual doctors room as we waited on the doctor.

Well, here is how she measures up now.

Head - 42.2 cm - 6%-tile

Height - 27 1/4 inches - 34%-tile

Weight - 15 pounds 9 ounces - 3%-tile (I told you she was a runt. 3 months ago when we came in for her 6 month appointment she only weighed 14 lbs 2 oz. So, she only gained a pound and a half in 3 entire months)

Josie may be a little on the chubby side if you look at her with all of her jelly rolls, but the truth actually is she is tiny for her age. Looks can be very deceiving. Every child is larger than she is. I know of a baby that is only 3 months old and is already larger than she is. Who knows she may have a giant growth spurt and shoot right up on the scale. Everything is good with her and she is doing excellent.
Our next appointment is in September when she is one year old. That is only 3 months away can you believe that?! I can not.

Happy Birthday Debbie!

OK, I am going to play a little blog catch up. I have been busy the last few days with parties, Father's Day and such.

On Thursday, June 12th was Debbie's Birthday!!! YEAH!!! Happy Birthday! We enjoyed a nice birthday dinner celebration at a small dinner however lets just say the service was HORRIBLE. When we got there they were a little crowded, but we were in no real hurry. We ordered and sat there and sat there and sat there. We asked numerous times where our food was and they assured us every time that it would be done shortly. Several tables came in after we ordered and for some odd reason ordered, ate, and left before we even got our order. How many is several, well 5. We were just about to get up and leave completely when our food finally arrived. We all sat with starving tummy's for 1 hour and 45 minutes. That is right almost 2 HOURS! Josie was an angel up until about the time we ate. She was getting really bored with just sitting there and wanted to get down and play. Well, who would blame her after 2 hours. Lets just say we will not be dining there any time soon.

After dinner, we enjoyed some yummy ice cream across the street from the restaurant and then back to open Debbie's present we went. Since Father's Day was on Sunday, we combined Debbie's Birthday and Father's Day into one gift. We purchased them a Wii Fit! Let me just say that I had never laughed so hard until Debbie tried to hit soccer balls with her head on the Wii. If you were not paying really close attention, they would kick soccer shoes at you. I laughed and laughed and laughed.

Happy Birthday Debbie!

Bubble Mania

With the weather so nice outside, it is very hard to keep us from coming in the house day or night. We play on the swing set, go for walks, play under the trees, and soon very soon will be swimming in the swimming pool.

I have not posted in several days, due to being busy getting the swimming pool up and ready for the summer. We have had a run for our money with the pool and some struggles, but I think we have the situation under control.

The other day to enjoy the nice summer air, we got the bubbles out just for a little fun. Josie loved it. She would swat at the bubbles to make them pop. It was adorable.

It is hard to see, but she is trying to catch some bubbles.

Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles

Funky Little Chica

Josie cracks me up! She loves to play in the walker that we borrowed from Cousin Jacob. Running into the dog, the back of my legs, the cabinets, you name it she has a ball doing it. Since the weather has been very nice out the other evening we placed the walker on our back deck, blocked the steps and let her go at it. She had the time of her life, while Brent and I relaxed in the shade in our lovely relaxer chairs. The hat that she was spotting was a little to large for her head, which made it rather difficult for her to see. So, Brent simply flipped the edge and this is what we got...one Funky Little Chica having a BLAST!

Here are a few photos from the other day.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub....Josie In The Kitchen Sink

As all of you know, Josie loves bath time. Months ago, she grew out of her baby tub, so she has been taking a bath in the big bath tub. However, it is not all that easy to do. Josie is not very tall and our tub is very deep so it kills your back to bend over into the tub. So, we decided well heck lets just use the kitchen sink and she loves it. She can hardle see over the top of the counter, but it works.

She can barely see over the top of the sink.

No Longer A Baby, But A Young Boy

Since, Jacob was all dressed up for the wedding on Saturday I took the opportunity to take some photos of him. He such a cute young boy now.

Enjoy the photos!
Hey Baby!

Aunt Jenny you so funny!

Ohhh! Look at Aunt Jenny's new camera!

Hey Look at Josie!

Such a cute little boy!

Dat!!!! His response to everything he wants.

9 Months Old

Today, Josie turned 9 MONTHS OLD!
Man, I say this every month, but where has the time gone. She is growing like a weed everyday. I can not believe it has been 9 months since we were in the hospital having her. Time flies when you are having fun I guess.

When I told Josie that she was 9 months old today this was the reaction she gave me. (See photo below) Man, it is not good to cry about your age at only 9 months. I can only imagine her response at 1 year.

To celebrate this day, we took our daily stroller ride, swung in the swing, ate foods that she could pick up with her own hands, and took a bath. All of Josie's favorite things to do. What a day!

I have been trying from month to month to set Josie in the same spot to take her photo that way we can compare how she has changed over the passing days, however since she is not all over the place it is becoming more and more difficult to get her to stay still. Believe me it is hard. So, the photos this month are not the same poses. Sorry.

Ta Da! I'm 9 Months Old!

Belle of the Ball

On Saturday afternoon, Brent, Josie, my sister Jamie, brother-in-law Jason, nephew Jacob, Grandma, and myself all piled into our Explorer and headed a hour and a half away to our cousins wedding. The two little munchkins sat in the very back and jabbered in their own language while us adults in the front had our very own conversations. It is so adorable to have them ride in the car next to each other. Josie faces backwards and Jacob forwards, so they get to look at each other while traveling. They just simply crack me up when they are together. While on our way to the wedding both children fell fast asleep. I guess do to the motion of the vehicle. But anyways Jacob's head was tilted towards Josie and Josie's head was tilted towards Jacob. It was really cute. However, to top it off Jacob had his hand on Josie's car seat handle. I guess because she had moved her hand in which at one point he was holding. I wish I would have been able to take a photo of this, but was unable to.

The wedding was very simple and really nice. We had an absolute blast! Josie looked so cute in new white dress. I know what you are thinking a white dress with a baby I have to be crazy or something.

Here are a few photos of our day.

Before we left Jacob was not very happy as you can tell from the photo. Either that or he did not like the hammock.

Once out of the hammock he was fine!
