Cheerio Monster

Look out Cookie Monster, we have another Monster in town. The CHEERIO MONSTER!!!!

This afternoon Josie and I stopped in at the bank to see all of my fellow co-workers. It has been a while since I have talked with them, let alone Josie go in and play with them. So, in we went. When we were leaving Josie was doing her normal throwing a fit to get into her car seat. She throws her fit until she is successfully strapped in and then she is good. So, I bribed her to get her to sit down and stop screaming. I handed her the CLOSED cheerio container to have her play with. We were just simply driving a block over the Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Terry's house so I could clean, so I did not take away the container. Big mistake on my part. This little girl had got the lid off of the container and was pigging out on as many Cheerios as she could simply fit in her little mouth. The Cheerios were going in by the handful. Once one hand put some in her mouth the other hand was already on its way up with some more to put in her mouth. At one point, I do not think anymore could simply go in. She knew I was going to take all of her yummy treats away from her, so when she saw me the faster she shoveled them into her mouth. What a little stinker.

Climbing Monkey

On Sunday, I left Josie home with Brent and in to church and to run a few errands I went. When I got home Brent said she did the unthinkable while I was gone. He said she kept crying "MAMA" and looking for me the entire time I was gone. He had the bedroom door closed and he said she would sit at the door yell for me and try to get the door open. He kept telling her I was not in there, but she did not believe him. He had to pick her up, open the door and show her that I was not in there. She started to really cry he said.

Anyways back to the title of the post. Brent was laying on the couch taking a little snooze (kind of), when he was to be watching her. He opened his eyes and found that Josie was up in the recliner. Yes, the recliner. She had climbed all by herself into the chair. She was just quietly sitting there reading a book being good. He could not believe it. I knew she would do something while I was gone, I just knew it. At first I did not believe him. I thought he was just joking. So, I got out the video camera and put one of my necklaces Josie loves up in the chair to see if she could re-create this act and sure enough she did. She climbed up on a toy and they up she went. I could not believe my eyes and I got it all on tape. I can not figure out how to get it on the computer, so sorry no video clip.

I knew this moment was going to come sometime really soon. She stands up and has just recently started to lift her leg a little to let you know she wants up.

Man, is our little one growing up and fast.

Minnie 2008

I just realized that I have yet to post these cute pictures of Josie. My father in April went to Disney World. Yes, and did not take his Grandchildren. Can you believe that? So, instead he brought home Josie these adorable Minnie ears and Minnie stuffed animal. Thanks PaPa Dave! She loves them.

Surfing Baby

Catcher pose!

Josie has been perfecting over the past week her surfing style. AKA standing. She has been pulling herself up to stand now for about 2 weeks or so, but over the last week she has been practicing free standing and is doing well. Wow, is she growing up. She will simply just stand up not holding onto anything, just up she goes. She will be in the middle of the room and up she goes. Once she is up she just claps and then down she goes. It is so cute. I was talking to a few people who say that babies do not simply just stand up without holding onto something until they are older and can walk and such. Perhaps Josie is a baby genius! You think?

Here are a few of her standing photos.

Look Mom up I go!

This is hard work!

Look! I did it without holding onto anything!

Look at her face. She is really concentrating on standing up on her own.

She hates the feeling of grass. So, she bear crawls to keep her knees off of the ground.

Monkey In Training

Our little Chunky Monkey in Training

On Monday, July 21st, I thought well hey if we have a monkey (Josie) in the house, then lets give the monkey, monkey food. AKA Banana. Josie loves bananas. I can not sit down and eat one myself without sharing it with her. So, I decided hey you get your own and that is what she did. I peeled the banana and let her go at it just to see what she would really do. Oh, boy did she ever eat that nanna. It was simply like 2 bites and it was gone. Brent and I had never laughed so hard in our entire life at our little Chunky Monkey.
She needs a little bit more training, but I think she has the basics down.
1. Open mouth
2. Put all of it in mouth
3. Make a huge mess
4. Mom, squeezing the cheeks to get it out to keep me from choking
5. Cry for another

Here are a few photos of our Monkey Adventure:

Oh, Banana I Love You!

Say Hello To My Little Friend. AKA my tummy

In you go...

Oh, Mom...Why can't I just put it all in my mouth.

Yummy!

Another Please.

...To Have and To Hold Till Death Us Do Part....

Two long years ago, Brent and I officially made the life long vow to one another. Today, marks our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. It does not seem like 2 years is all that long, well it isn't but a lot has happened in the last 2 years that has changed our lives forever.
Brent and I were just discussing how we met and all of that jive. We have been together now for 9 1/2 years. We started dating in 1999 and already it is 2008. Time flies when you are surrounded by a person who you really love and loves you back.
To celebrate this wonderful day, Brent and I are going out on our very first date since Josie has been born. That is right almost one year after she arrived and still no date night. Why you ask? Lots of reasons, but the most knowing one is that we can not get enough of her and she goes everywhere with us. Why not? She is our world.

Hide and Seek

OH!!! You found me!

On July 7th, as we were getting ready to go and celebrate my sisters 21st birthday, we heard Josie just having the time of her life in the living room. Brent and I were getting ready. Brent was getting dressed in the bedroom and I was in the bathroom finishing putting on my make-up. Josie had crawled from the bathroom into the living room to play with her beloved toys. All of a sudden we heard all of these noises (good noises) coming from the living room. When we walked in the living room we could not find her. So, we followed the sounds of her laughing to find this....Josie playing in the blanket basket that sits between the couch and the recliner. This basket is there to keep her from crawling behind the recliner. She was having a ball. It was to funny not to take her photo. What a silly little girl!

I love this basket!

I got in it all by myself!

Ok, MaMa you found me now pick me up.
It is hard to believe that she did this all on her very own.

Pancake

This morning Brent was making breakfast and decided Josie needed her very own. He was making pancakes and sausage, so he simply whipped Josie up her very own small cake. At first she did not know what to do with it, but after a few minutes it was going down like nothing.

Swim Baby

Yesterday, we decided to just simply lay around the pool and get a little sun. Well, Josie and I got a little sun, while Brent got fried like a TOMATO. He is in so much pain, but he looks hilarius. His entire body is red, but where his trunks were. Poor guy!

While in the pool the triplets and their Mama came out to play in the yard. It was neat to watch them play all around us, while in the pool. We think they would have come closer to the pool however the radio was on and we think they did not like the sound of our music. After a while Josie was having a good old time being extremely loud which scared the deer a little bit, but at least she was having fun.

Here are a few of our fun in the sun photos.

Yeah for Josie!

Mini Vacation

After working 15 - 12+ hour days in a row, Brent was finally off of work the last 3 days. YEAH! Talk about a mini vacation for him. Poor guy, those 15 days just about kicked his butt. I would tuck him into bed minutes after Josie and she is in bed by 8 PM. He was so worn out and tired. So, hence no posting this week. We have been having some quality family time. You know catching up on lost time, kind of.

Josie and Brent has started a new bedtime routine. While he was working so much he did not want to really do anything when getting off of work but relax for a little bit before heading to bed, so he would sit in bed and watch a little TV. There were numerous nights that Josie did not want him to feel lonely, but thought he needed a TV buddy. This is how I would find them both several nights in a row. All cuddled up on each other relaxing enjoying a TV show. Both sleep, comfy, and focused on their show.

Technical Difficulties

As I had promised on Monday, I would post photos of our wonderful Tuesday Margarita adventure however, when we got to our location I pulled out the camera and the unthinkable happened....the batteries were dead. Shame on me for not making sure that the batteries were fully charged before departing. But, don't worry I used my sister's camera, so there will be photos soon, just not right now.

Sorry!

Happy 21!!!!

(This is an old photo that I took out of the closet for this occasion.)

We just want to send a shout out to my sister Kasey.
Today, is her very special day.
She turns 21!
Can you believe it???
I can't. It makes me feel really really old for her to be this old. My mom would be so proud of the person she has become. She has grown up so much in the last few years. She is attending college, working, and doing good.

Last week, my sister, Jamie, and I took her our for a little birthday surprise. We did not tell her what we were doing, but just to be ready at a certain time. It was driving her crazy not knowing what we were going to do. We went and got our nails done and out to eat. I think she really enjoyed it. I know I did.

We hope you enjoy your special day, Kasey.

Tomorrow, we are going to be celebrating this happy day with her, so visit back in a few days for party photos. I don't know if she is more excited about it or me. Come on Strawberry Margaritas, who would not be excited. Josie sorry I guess this means the bottle for you.

OH YEAH BY THE WAY KASEY I HAVE YET ANOTHER SURPRISE UP MY SLEEVES FOR YOU TOMORROW!

Happy Flag Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. We did. We did not do much at all. Brent worked all weekend and Josie and I just had a little R and R time in the swimming pool. On the fourth when Brent got off of work, we ventured over to our friends house to enjoy some yummy food and fellowship. Thanks for inviting us, we had fun.

At dusk, we were on our way home and decided to venture to see some fireworks. Josie enjoyed them. We were not sure how we thought she would take it, but she liked them. She was awake in the car on the way to the display, but then when we got closer she fell asleep. It was way past her bedtime anyways, but she woke up and stayed awake throughout the show. By the end, she had enough and was not fascinated anymore. She just wanted her good night snack and venture into dream land. So, we left a little early, which worked out ok because we beat all of the people leaving. As we were pulling away the finale went off. Perfect timing. Josie was asleep by the time we were down the road. Poor girl.

Brent and Josie look so thrilled in this photo don't they. They are both feeling a little sleepy, can you tell. You can not read Josie's shirt, but it says "Daddy's Little Firecracker."

Crazy

Hey all!

I wish I had photos of this, but unfortunately I was unable to do so. However, I was able to catch it all on home video. So, are all of you biting at the bit to hear what it is that I am talking about. Ok, all of you know about the triplets, well the unthinkable happened tonight.

I was in the kitchen cleaning up some of the dishes after Josie ate her dinner when I looked out the window above the sink to see the Mama deer and all three of the fawns eating Mulberries from the tree. I tried to take photos, but they did not turn out since they have screens on them. So, I grabbed the home video. They walked from the Mulberry tree across the back yard and right outside the back door. They were right by the deck, between the pool and the deck. Can you believe that?! I could have thrown a rock and hit all three of them. It was amazing.

10 Months Old

Can you believe it...Josie is 10 months old today. Man, where has the time gone. We are starting to prepare for her big 1st birthday party. Invites are underway since I am making all of them myself, cake pans have been bought to practice (it is going to be an really good cake), and gift ideas are underway.
Every month that passes, I think about what she is doing different from the month before. Through the last month, she has learned to pull herself up on stuff and occasionally crawling into a basket. However, through the last month she is still all smiles.
Happy 10 months old Josie!
