Where A Kid Can Be A Kid

Over Spring Break from school, the kids, Brent, Jamie's clan and my Dad all went out for a nice lunch at non-other than Chuck E Cheese. I had not been to the good old Chuck-E-Cheese place since I was little. We went on a week day for lunch and spent around 2 1/2 hours. It was a blast! Josie and Ogdan absolutely loved it. Josie keeps asking when we can go back again. They loved the food (who would complain of pizza), robotic show, rides, games, and the good old Chuck. It was fun to watch them go crazy having fun. Brent, Jason, Jamie, and I even had a ski ball contest. Brent and I won! Since it was on a week day and for lunch there was very few people there so it was really nice.

Ogdan was not fond of Chuck-E-Cheese. He held onto Brent's shirt for dear life and tried his hardest to move away. Poor kid! This was definately an outing we will have to do again.

Check out some of the photos from our day.

Mask

I was doing some serious cleaning out of closets and drawers since I have been on Spring Break from school this week. I have tackled the dreaded hall closed, medicine cabinet, under the bathroom sink, drawers in the bathroom, Josie's closet, and a junk cabinet in the kitchen. In my cleaning out, I discovered some buried treasures. One of which was a facial masking cream. You rub the mask on and then wait 10 minutes and peel it off. So, Josie and I tried on the cool beauty treatment. It has been in the hall closet for who knows how long. Well, I know now why it was buried underneath all of the treasures.

Josie and I put the masks on eachother and let them dry. Ok, so far. Well, when it came time to peel them off she started to yell at me. "Mommy it hurts. Stop. etc" I kept telling her it can not hurt and such. We ended up just washing it off with a wash cloth. I just thought she was doing her little Josie thing when she says it hurts but does not really. Well, come to find out she was not joking. It did hurt like a mother. I wanted to cry as I was peeling mine off. It felt like it was pullying the hair out or something. So, this fun Mommy/daughter thing I thought we were doing did not turn out to be very fun. I let Josie throw the cream in the trash following this.

Perhaps, we can find something not so hurting to do next time.

What this is not a recliner?

Josie loves watching her cartoons in the morning. It is like some people have to have their nice warm cup of coffee before their day can get on its way, well with Josie it is cartoons. Give her a donut, milk and cartoons in the morning and she is one happy camper.

Ogdan got a new car seat for his birthday and before we installed it into the car we adjusted the straps inside. Well, while it was sitting by the door to go out to the car, Josie took it upon herself to make the car seat her very own person theatre seat and place it right in front of the tv to watch her favorite cartoons. She has done this before with his infant seat also. But it is just funny to see how relaxed she is cuddled up under her night night watching her cartoons.

What a silly girl!

First Hockey Game

My brother-in-law, Jason, had received some free tickets to the local ice hockey game on Sunday and asked if my clan would like to join them. Oh course, we took him up on his offer! It has been since way before kids since Brent or I have seen a hockey game in person. So, we loaded up the kids for some Sunday Family Fun. Ogdan was really interested in what was going on and kept his eyes glued onto the ice for most of the game. Presley wanted to sit right next to him, so at times Brent was holding both Ogdan and Presley. It was adorable! Josie and Jacob loved to dance to the music, scream for their team, and who could forget getting their faces painted like a butterfly and a lizard. When the giant ice trucks came out they were infatuated by them. It was a fun evening and we can not wait to go see another one. They did ended up loosing the game, but it was a good one.

Thanks for the invite Jason, Jamie, and clan. Oh and for the FREE tickets!

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring!

March 20th is officially the first day of Spring. It is a day that lots of people urn for during the year. Good bye Winter, Hello Spring! With the weather that we have been having, 70 degrees one day 30 the next, sunny then snowing. Man, it is like we are on a weather roller coaster ride. Well, the first signs of Spring are here at our house. Robins are flying around, flowers are beginning to come up, and in fact even bloom. When these pretty things bloom we know warmer weather is on its way.

However, I do remember them sticking out of piles of snow in the past. Lets just pray that does not happen this year.

Welcome Spring...

Cowboy/Cowgirl in Training

Josie has been talking and talking about going horse back riding with Jess for a while, so when she decided to get the horses out for a little stroll we jumped at the chance to go over for a quick little ride. Josie has been afraid of horses since she was little. Why? Who knows...they are huge to a little person perhaps. I mean she would scream, cry, and run in the opposite direction of them. Poor girl. However, as the years have passed she has slowly came out of her fear of the animal. She pretends that she is riding horses at home using benches and anything else she can find. It is really cute and funny to watch her pretend this.

I had to laugh when we first got there because she was very timid and her eyes were the sizes of kiwis. These horses were much larger than the minis she was used to seeing at petting zoos and such. She did go for a short little ride with Uncle Bry and loved it. In fact, on the way home she was asking when she could go riding again.

Well, what about my little cowboy?!? Ogdan did go for a short little ride with Uncle Bry, however his fasination was not with the horses, but with the dogs. Who could really blame him, the dogs look huge to him. So, a horse must look like the jolly green giant to him. Ogdan LOVES dogs! So, much of our time there was hanging out at the dog kennel playing with them rather than having anything to do with the horses. Who knows perhaps next time he will focus in on the horses.

Thanks for Jess and Uncle Bry for the chance to check of the horses. We really enjoyed it!

Not quite sure of the horses. He gave them a good stare down.
