Snowy Flowers

Sunday Brent went outside and took some very good pictures of the snow. Here are just a few of the photos that he took. Who would have thought that we would have Spring flowers popping through snow. Not me! But it makes for good pictures. Enjoy!

Snow In March?!

So, what did you do today? Laundry, nap, sledding?

We took advantage of the 50 degree weather outside today and snow. Can you believe that?! We have snow on the ground at the end of March. Crazy! We decided to put on our snow suits and ventured out into the yard for some fresh air and sledding. I mean it is 50 degrees outside, who would not want to play in the snow and not get that cold. Josie loves to go sledding. She was throwing snowballs at Brent and laughing when she did it. We went sledding down the hill and she could not get enough of it. Here are a few photos of her sledding down the hill. I hope you feel like you were there at the bottom of the hill by looking through the photos.

Big Girl Potty

Tonight, Josie was in bath tub getting her bath with Brent, when she felt that she had to go (you know #2). Brent quickly pulled her from the tub and YEAH!!!!!

Josie went potty in the Big Girl Potty! YEAH!

She has been ready for some time to be potty trained, but I can not expect a sitter to do it. She is getting everything she needs for potty training for Easter, however I may be giving it to her early that way of my week Spring Break we can start this process.

Wish us luck and WAY TO GO JOSIE!

They Grow Up So Fast

Brent and I were flipping through old photos and can not believe how fast Josie has grown up. She is no longer a baby, but a big girl. However, she will always be considered our baby, whether she wants to be or not. She has outgrown so much clothes, eating real people food, in a big girl car seat, talks real people talk, ready to be potty trained and is almost ready for a big girl bed. It is incredible insane how fast she has grown up in such a short time. We cherish every moment, because before long she will be 16 and driving (scary). Below are two photos of Josie in the infant car seat.

Skipping Rocks

We all have Spring Fever. Josie can not get enough of the outdoors. I can not wait to put up her Christmas present, Playhouse. She is going to love playing outside in it this Summer. Josie and Brent usually walk around the yard everyday through the trails and down by the lake to see the "geese." She can actually say it really well and when you ask her what they say she will honk. It is adorable! They love to throw rocks in the pond, so I was not surprised to see Josie playing in the rocks up by the house and throwing them and bringing them to Brent. I guess she just wants to practice her skipping rock skills that way when they go back to the pond she can out throw her Daddy.

I guess it is time to start searching for a life jacket her size. Better to be safe than sorry. Right?!

Snooze or No Snooze

Brent and I go round and round in the mornings when it is time to get up. Brent is the kind of person that as soon as the alarm goes off he gets up, while I on the other hand have to hit the snooze button at least once or twice before rolling out of bed. Yesterday, was a bad morning for me. I have to set 2 alarm clocks, one electrical and one battery. This way if I hit snooze in my sleep, I still will not be late. Well, yesterday my alarm went off and Brent turned it off instead of hitting snooze. The 2nd alarm did not go off for some reason. At least, neither one of us remember it going off. If it did, he had turned it off without me knowing it. Well, to make a long story short. I woke up at 7:36 AM. Not good. I have to be at work at 8:00 AM. So lets just say it was a very rushed morning. Teeth brushed, hair brushed, got dressed and out the door I went. I could have killed Brent. He was so lucky that I woke up and looked at the clock or who knows what would have happened.

So, I need your help. On the side of the blog there is a poll about what you do in the morning when the dreaded alarm clock goes off. Please take the poll and let us know what it is that you do.

Move It Over

"Scoot it over Josie, you are in my way!" I bet that is what Jacob would be saying to Josie if he could say that to her. Josie and Jacob just crack me up. Enjoy the photos.

Best Friends

Josie and Jacob are the best of friends all of you know that by now. Below is a photo that just brings a smile to my face. At the beginning of the week, Josie and I ventured to my sister's to visit Presley and the rest of the gang. Josie loved having playtime with Jacob. He has a tricycle and Josie had to get on the bike with him. Josie would be in front and Jacob in the back, then Jacob in front and Josie in back. However, Jacob felt that was wrong, so Josie had to be in the front. They are like 2 peas in a pod.

Got Toilet Paper?

Over the weekend, Josie decided that she was going to go play in the bathroom while downstairs. She loves the shower as all of you know, so when I went into the bathroom to retrieve her from what I thought she would be in the shower, I was wrong. She was not in the shower, but playing with the new roll of toilet paper. The entire roll was on the floor and stuck to her foot. When I asked her if she did it her response was "uh oh." Like she was not the one who did it. What a little stinker!

PU

These photos and title say it all! You know it is time to change Josie's diaper when even she can not stand it anymore.

New Ride

Josie has been playing on the box that contained one of her Christmas presents now for months. Since, the weather has been so nice lately we decided to open the box and put together her new set of wheels. She loves it! She does not have the full hang of how it fully works yet, but she is learning. She drives it a little farther every day. She is still a little small for it. Her feet do not quite reach the pedals very well. However, she likes just to sit in it and act like she is driving. So, all I can say is watch out drivers Josie is on her way. Brent told her the other day, since she had her own car now she was not going to get one when she turned 16. Josie I guess thought it was funny because her response was "NO!" What a funny gal!

Happy Patty's Day!

I hope the Irish cheer is with all of you today!

"Presley"

Josie and I ventured over to see Presley this evening. It has been several days since I have seen her since I have been a little ill for the last few days. I did not want to get her sick, so I stayed away. Even though it was killing me to do so. I was really eager to see how Josie would do with her. She did great! She did not care that I was holding her or for her cries. She was more concerned on what Jacob was doing and playing with him. She would simply look at her and say "baby." When you asked her to say "Presley," she would try her very best. It is actually pretty good, you can actually tell what it is that she is trying to say. Here are a few photos of the cute little gal.

She's Here! She's Here!

In cause you did not know already my older sister, Jamie, was expecting her second child here in March and this time it is a girl! Well, after 9 months of waiting she has finally arrived. Yeah! I am proud to say that Jacob is no longer an only child, but a big brother to a health baby sister.

Let me introduce you to....

Presley Nicole Evans

Mommy and baby are doing great. Jacob is loving being a big brother. He says "my baby" and wants to hold her all the time. He is just so in love with her and his face lights up when you talk about her.

Of course, I will have thousands more by Monday, so stay tuned.

One Sick Baby

Josie has been under the weather now for about a week. I mean really under the weather. Yesterday, however was the worst day of all. She only wanted you to hold her and "rock rock" her. If you asked her a question the answer was always "no." I felt bad leaving Josie yesterday to go to work, but Brent was home to comfort her. She slept in, in the morning, but was just not herself. Really not herself. Her nose is running like a water fountain and she has a nasty cough. When I got home yesterday all she wanted was for me to hold her. She simply fell asleep 2 times on Brent's lap throughout the day. She would just sit on his lap all day. If you know Josie she is always on the go, so you know someone is wrong when she is not on the go.

I asked her when I got home for work if she wanted a cookie, and she told me "no." Juice? "No." Go play with Jacob? "No." Everything was "No."

Her fever finally broke last night. YEAH!!! Brent went into her room to check on her and she was soaking wet with sweat.

Today, Brent stayed up with her instead of her going to go play with Uncle Bryant who is watching her while our babysitter is taking some time off due to the birth of her little girl. We thought it would be best to have Josie say home and sleep in. Which she did until 10:30 AM. I could not have Bryant watching my sick child. But I am happy to report that Josie is feeling 10 times better today and is on the road to recovery.

Faces That Make You Crack Up

On a rainy Saturday, I thought you all may need a little sunshine to brighten up your day. AKA - Josie's world of silly faces. I hope they bring a smile to your face and perhaps a little laughter. Enjoy!

Spring Fever

Josie is tired of being cooped up in the rotten old house and is ready for Spring. Aren't we all. So, of course that meant soaking up the sun's rays today outside in the 68 degree weather. Josie and Brent had fun running around the yard enjoying the day. I, so wish that I was home today to share this day with her, but we know how the life of a working Mommy is. Only 10 more school weeks of school left until summer, but you know who is counting and all. Not me. Yeah right!

Here are a few photos Brent took of Josie having fun outside today.

YEAH! They Really Like Me!

As most of you know that teachers are on a one year contract until the end of our
4th year. Which means that every year for the next 4 years they can say for no reason that they do not want me back the following year and I am without a job. By law, they have to give 60 days notice before the end of the school year whether or not they will keep you or not. Myself plus 2 other new teachers in the same grade level as me have been patiently waiting to hear the verdict for next year and today was that day. One of us Third Grade teachers will have to move to a different grade level to keep our jobs, but I WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR! I have the option of possibly moving up to the 4th grade, down to the 2nd grade or saying in 3rd. I am planning on staying in the 3rd grade if it goes as planned. It seems to be the most secure. That means I will not have to learn new curriculum and all of that fun stuff.

So, this means unfortunately that I will we a working Mommy for at least 1 more year. Brent and I have talked about the future and what would happen. If I got to keep my job than great. The job feel into my lap, so to give it up now might be education suicide. Elementary jobs do not come very easy, because there are so many people going to school for this and right now there are not a lot of job openings in this area. That is until the older teachers retire. If I was not offered the job next year, Brent and I decided that I would just stay home and be a stay at home Mommy. Everything happens for a reason, so I guess this is what is in store for me.

So, to celebrate my job, Josie and I are going to go shopping tomorrow. Not for me, I wish, but for Josie. She is growing like a weed and have NO shoes can you believe that.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub Josie and Jacob in the Tub

It was a hoot a few weekends ago, February 20th to be exact! Jacob came over to play with Josie while Jamie and Jason enjoyed a nice evening out. You know like the last Howrah before baby #2 is here. The kids had a blast together as they always do. To add to the fun, I decided to give the two little stinkers a bath together. They loved it! They were laughing at each other having a good old time. Josie would be splashing in the tub and get Jacob wet, so what did he do but return the jester and get her wet. They would take turns washing each other. Josie would wash his belly and he would wash her back. He would dump water over her head and then she would dump water over his head. It was funny! Here are a few photos from the night of fun we had.

Let me help you rinse out that shampoo Josie. All you have to do is hold still.

Ok, Jacob it is now my turn to help you with your hair.

Crazy Gal

Josie has a mind of her own as most of all of you know. Josie thought sitting in a plastic tub in the kitchen would be a hoot to do, so that is what she did. The funniest thing is that she fit perfect in this tub. Her legs fit straight in it. Gotta Love Her!
