Happy Halloween!
How did all of you spend your Saturday night? Here at our house we had "Family Fun Night." We cleared off the kitchen table and got all dirty in pumpkin guts. AKA: carved pumpkins. What is Halloween without a good old carved pumpkins. Josie wanted a happy pumpkin and Ogdan according to Josie wanted a mean or mad pumpkin, so that is what we came up with. Josie got all good and dirty digging in with both hands to clean out the pumpkin where Ogdan was the opposite. He did not want to put his hands in the pumpkin. Instead, he used a giant spoon. This I thought was very weird. He is all boy and loves to get dirty in the mud and such, but would not for the life of him put his hands in the pumpkins. Oh well, there is always next year. I have to say that over all the pumpkins turned out excellent. Josie cleaned out the pumpkins and made drawings for Brent and I to go off of and the carving with the sharp objects of course was left up to Mommy and Daddy.

Happy 31st Birthday Brent!
Today is Brent's 31st birthday. Happy Birthday Brent! Oh course, when you get to be our age a birthday is just another day. So, oh course had to work on his special day. That is ok, because it gave the kids and I time after school to make a special meal and even a birthday cake coated with tons of sprinkles (Josie's idea imagine that) to celebrate his special day. We had everything sitting on the table waiting for him to get home. Of course, this was the night he was 30 minutes late. I made the kids wait to eat with Daddy, so they were starving. The food was now cold and bedtime was getting closer and closer.
We had a little party for him with cake, ice cream, and of course presents. What would a birthday be without presents.
I hope you had a very special day Babe...We love you and Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Mom!
Today celebrates what would have been my Mom's birthday. It is a hard day every single year.
I ventured over to my Grandma's today to get some help making Josie's Halloween costume for this year and Grandma and I talked about the times Mom used to make my costumes. It was a nice way to remember what a wonderful caring person my Mom was.
We all miss you Mom and Happy Birthday! Love you!

Real Men Drive Pink
We all know the saying that you see on t-shirts all around "Real Men Wear Pink!" Well, Ogdan has one uped that slogan to "Real Boys Drive Pink Cars!"
Ogdan, as all of you know, loves tractors, trucks, cars, 4-wheelers anything with 4 wheels on it and he is in hog heaven. He loves to drive his tractor around the yard. Even though he has not quite mastered the skill of steering to get to places he wants to yet, but he is working on it. Often times, we find him sporting his big sisters pink jeep around. She has outgrown it, but it is just the right size for him and he loves it.
So, move over boys "REAL BOYS DRIVE PINK!"

Fall is Here
It is hard to believe Fall is already here. The colors on the trees are changing into the reds, oranges, browns, and yellows. Before we know it the dreaded snow will be upon us. That is not a season of the year I like. Give me a beach and the hot sun and I am a happy woman. Snow, all I can say is yuck. It has been rather warm this Fall, so I have tried to get some Fall photos but of course when the time is right it is of course nap time. Here are a few photos that I took down at the cabin, but of course I am not very happy with them. Dreaded old naptime.

Orchard of Fun
Today, my sister Jamie and I got to leave work at noon! It was conference day, so since we were at school last night until after 7 (pulling a 11 hour day) we got to leave early. YEAH! We picked the kids up from the sitters house and went to good old McDonalds for lunch. The kids ate their lunch and played on the new equiptment they had. Of course they had a blast. Then, off to the apple orchard we went. All 4 kids fell asleep in the car as we traveled there. What a surprise! Now of course it was naptime, but it was worth the try to have fun and pick apples.
They loved it! Ogdan was thought it was like putting a baby in a candy store and locking the door behind you. He saw all the apples on the ground and thought "heck yeah." It was hard to keep him from picking up all the millions of apples on the ground and telling him not to eat them. He kept giving me that "but Mommy" face. I eventually just had to give him an apple to eat just to keep him from throwing fits when I told him the apples were yucky and making him put it down.
We picked ourselves a peck of apples, got some apple cider (yummy) and then off we went to get some good old naps in. By the time we were finished it was way past naptime. We had 4 cranky kiddos on us. We were going to attempt the pumpkin patch, but there was no way at this point. The kids were done. Perhaps next time.
