Miss Hollywood

"MISS HOLLYWOOD"

Josie is so photogenic. It is very difficult not to take her photo all of the time. But what kind of a Mommy would I be if I constantly do not have a camera flashing. Josie has officially earned herself a new nickname. Her nickname is "MISS HOLLYWOOD!" When we put her sunglasses on her she is just absolutely adorable and ready for the big town. She loves her shades. Who knows someday perhaps she will grow up to be famous and living in the big city. Whatever she wants to be, we say go for it.

New Sleeping Style

Josie has always been one to love to sleep on her tummy. However, research says that infants now need to sleep on their backs. So, when Josie was itty-bitty we would fight with her to get her to sleep on her back and it was a lost battle most of the time. Brent or I would sleep on the couch for about the first month with her on our tummy to allow her to sleep on her tummy. Once, she started to get older she would sleep on her back. Well, once she started to roll over, she decided that she was a side sleeper and that is how she sleeps most of the time. No more sleeping on her back! We put her in bed on her back, but soon after when we go to check on her she is rested on her side. Well, the last few nights when I would go in to check on her I simply had to laugh. This is how I would find her. (see photo above) She would peacefully be rested on her tummy with her knees up to her chest and her little booty up in the air. I could not stop laughing. It is so cute! It is funny to put her in bed one way and perhaps find her in several different locations and positions when checking on her.
What gets me the most is in the mornings when I go to get her out of bed she is sitting up in her bed with a GIANT smile on her face. It is the best!

Popsicle

(Hey! Can I have a bite?!)
The other day when it was in the mid-80's, Brent thought Josie needed to taste one of the best summer time snacks. A Popsicle. He grabbed a Popsicle from the freezer and thought he would give Josie a little taste. He would suck all of the flavor out of the freezer pop (so it was simply just ice) and then let Josie simply lick it. He would take out all of the flavor, because it has way to much sugar for our little one. She does not get sweets yet. Remember that Grandpa Dave!!!!! He always wants to spoil his Grandkids with things they are not allowed to have. His motto is "what good are Grandparents if they can not spoil their Grandkids and give them things they are not suppose to have." That totally sounds like my Dad. Love You!

Anyways, Josie was not to sure if she liked the Popsicle or not. It was really cold, so I think she had mixed feelings on it. When it gets warmer out, perhaps she will change her mind.

Here are a few photos of her very first Popsicle!

(Well....That was ok. Maybe, sometime I can have another one.)

Cutest Baby Contest

Since election time is here, we are doing a little campaigning of our own. However, it is not for the next President of the USA, but for the next "CUTEST BABY!"

Josie has officially been entered into her first "Cutest Baby Contest." From now until mid-June her photo (the one above) will be on display at Krogers for all to see. Her photo is on a display near the check-out lane. To vote for her, you simply place money into her slot. The money is considered to be a donation to "Splash." The winner is determined by the baby that raises the most amount of money for Splash. Every cent counts. (Get it?!) So, next time you are up at the local Krogers, simply empty out your pocket change into her slot or a buck or two. If you are really nice and giving, I am sure they will even take personal checks! Ha!
If she wins, which we hope she does, she will have her own float in the Splash Parade. We may be starting her out in contests early, but she is just to darn cute not to share her beautiful face with the rest of the world.
Please pass the word to everyone that you know, that they MUST vote for her! Remember "EVERY CENT COUNTS."
Thanks for your support!
Love, Josie

Happy Memorial Day!

To celebrate Memorial Day, we ventured up to the local parade. Josie loved the fire trucks and seeing all of the people. Here are a few photos of the wonderful parade.

(Josie is waving to all of the people in the parade. How cute?!)

Hi All!

( Look at my shirt!!!! It states "Home Grown." Get it...."Home Grown" is the name of our website.)

The other day, Josie was just relaxing in her little rocking chair when she started to wave at me. What a perfect picture I thought, so here it is. She just wanted to say "Hi" to all of you.

Cruising

On May 12th, (I know it was a while ago) Josie had her very first four-wheeler ride. It was just a little putt, putt around the yard, but hey it counts. She enjoyed being with her Daddy going around the yard. When she gets old enough she will have to have her very own ATV, well we will see. She loves being outside doing whatever, so she had a blast.

Becoming a Professional

Most of you know that photography has become a hobby of mine. It is an expensive hobby, but is well worth it. I snap photos of Josie all of the time. It is easy to snap over 100 pictures during one photo shoot.

A few weeks ago on Josie's first trip to the farm I let my creative photography side show and this was the result.

I have fallen in love with photography and in fact will be taking a few classes coming up here soon. My sister is very eager for me to take some photos of my nephew, so when I do I will share them with all of you.

So, what do you think of my photos??

I Want It Now!

This photo is to funny not to share it with all of you. In the evenings, Josie get tired and always wants her Mommy to hold her. Well, the other night I was doing a few things getting the house picked up and Josie was not very happy with that. She would crawl around following me like a sick little puppy and when I would say something to her and walk away she would get really mad at me as you can tell. If you look really close there is even spit dropping from her chin. She is always a good happy girl when she gets what she wants, but if not she knows what to do to get her way. And of course being the Mommy I am gives in to her every desires and gives her what she wants. So, this photo was taken seconds before I picked her up.

What a spoiled little girl! Not just by me, but by all.

Josie Got Baptised

Today, Sunday, May 11th (Mother's Day), Josie got baptised! Brent and I thought today would be the perfect day to have this joyous event, with it being Mother's Day and all. She is our little angel! Josie was so adorable through the entire celebration. She could not have been more happier to be dedicating her life to the lord. She was grinning from ear to ear and squealing happy squeals the entire time.

The photos taken are what she wore to be baptised in. This outfit was by baptismal outfit when I was baptised as an infant. We thought it would only be appropriate for her to wear the same attire. And I have to say she looks cute in it!

May God Bless You Josie Always!

Happy Mom Day!

(Josie's Got Baptised Today!)

I want to take a minute to say a

Happy Mother's Day!

to all of you Mom's out there.

I was watching the news the other night and they stated that if a Mom was actually paid for all of the hard work that we do all year long, our annual salary would be $116,000. Now, wouldn't that chunk of change be nice to get paid every year for everything that we do.

I have to say that since this was my 1st official Mother's Day, since last year Josie was still in my tummy I had a blast. Josie was so good all day long and just as perfect and happy as ever. I got breakfast in bed. Brent made me a hash brown sandwich, no eggs because he did not want to dirty any dishes. What an excuse!?! I would have to do the dishes anyways, you know as part of my $116,000 salary I should be getting. Josie made me a card and Brent swears he did not help her!!

But overall, everything today was just great.

Happy Mom's Day!

Becoming Famous

Our little Josie girl is becoming a famous little baby. LITERALLY FAMOUS! As all of you know, we recently had some professional photos taken a month or so ago. I always go on the photographers website to check out other recent photos that she has taken under her photo books. However, today I decided to look at her Gallery. The Gallery is the photos that she wants every person visiting the site to see. Much to my excitement, Josie has made it in her Gallery for all to see. Josie did not just make it into her famous Gallery, but also Brent and Josie's photo.

Take a look at the photos the Photographer decided to add to her Gallery due to being an excellent photo. Click on the link below and then at the bottom of the screen click on Gallery. Then, click on Little Ones and scroll down and you will find 2 photos of my little angel.

First Time To The Farm

On Sunday, May 4th, Josie had a blast down at the farm. This was her very first venture to this new and exciting location and she loved every minute of it. She loves being outdoors, so this was just perfect. She played in the leaves, went fishing, and enjoyed a little R and R time. I am happy to say that she did not even try to put the leaves in her mouth like we all thought she would. We can not wait until the next time we can take her down there and spend even more time enjoying the great outdoors.

Family Photos

Back at the end of February, we had our very first official family photos taken. They turned out just perfect. Josie was a sweetheart as usual and was happy the entire time. Can you believe it? Here are just a few of the amazing photos that we had taken that day. I know February seems like so long ago, but I just got the pictures today.

(Look at that smile Josie has on her face. It is so funny!)

Say tuned for more amazing photos. I could not give you all of them today, that would be easy. I have to let all of you stew a little to see the rest and believe me they are to die for.

8 Months Old Already

On Friday, May 2nd, Josie turned an amazing 8 months old. It is crazy how fast time has flown by. Since last month, Josie has got 2 teeth, learned to semi-crawl, sit up completely on her own, eat more veggies (which she loves Sweet Potatoes and Carrots), climbs up on your lap on her own if sitting on the floor, and reach for her Mommy only (HA HA). That is my favorite thing when she reaches for me. When we put her in her crib for a nap if she does not really want to take a nap she will sit up in the bed. It is so funny. We will come in and there she will be sitting instead of laying down. Man, is she getting old.

This photo was taken of her standing up in the crib. She was getting tired and wanted to be held. It cute in my opinion.

Mushrooming Baby

On Sunday, May 4th, we ventured down to our favorite mushroom hunting location. We walked the woods and searched for hours for those small yummy fungus growing things and only found around 25. What a bummer! Years ago, we would go and come home with pounds upon pounds of this delicious treats, but not this weekend. We think it is a little early yet, but soon we will hit the mother load, at least we hope.

While Grandma Debbie and I went in search of mushrooms, Josie enjoyed a little quality time with Daddy and Grandpa Terry. They had fun and so did we.

Josie even helped a little to find them.

Big Girl Bath Time

As all of you know that Josie loves her baths, always have always will. However, she has grown out of her baby tub completely in our books. She upgraded out of the tub hammock months ago, but we have decided that it is time to retire the baby tub all together. Josie can sit up on her own as you know. When we put her in the baby tub above the sink it seems as if more water ends up on the kitchen floor than actually in the tub. I usually take a bath with my baby girl, but for some reason I decided to not hop in the tub with her this time. She did not know what to think. Of course, there was less water in it because she is so buoyant that she slides, but overall she had fun until she got cold.

What a sweet little face!
