Puddle Jumping

What is better in life then getting all dirty puddle jumping? Who knows?!? It had rained and the mud pit that is what we call our garage was loaded with water and perfect for getting dirty. Josie looked at these puddles and dreamed of the mess that she could make in them. She kindly asked one day if she could jump in the puddles. I could not come up with a reason why not, so she quickly called Daddy to tell of her upcoming adventures and place on her rain boots. Then jumping she went. Josie took full advantage of the opportunity and jumped her heart out in the puddles getting dirty and having a blast. She thought it was so much fun. I can not wait until Ogdan wants to do it. Boys get so much dirtier so I only can imagine what Ogdan will do when the time comes around.

I'm NO GRANDMA!

Josie loves playing with her baby dolls. It does not matter the time of day, she loves playing with her dolls morning, noon, and night. She takes her baby everywhere. The baby has to be buckled in the car and everything. The baby diaper bag even has to go. She will carry her baby, one of my old purses filled with the essentials (lipstick, cell phone, snacks, etc), and diaper bag all around the house playing. All while pushing a stroller, just in case the baby wants to go for a ride. She is a good little Mommy. She makes the baby take naps, feeds her, changes her diaper, burps her, and even gives the baby baths.

There are a few funny stories I must share about Josie's baby, that perhaps may make you laugh as they did me.

1. We were headed to the sitters and of course baby had to go with us. She made baby ride in the front seat. She buckled her in even. She gave the baby a lecture, "Now, you sit right here and don't touch the window buttons and make sure Mommy doesn't hit anything."

2. While Josie was playing with her baby in the basement, she came walking over to me with her baby strapped into the stroller. "Hey Grandma! Can you watch my baby next weekend I have to work? Just for a little while, I'll pay you." I turned around to see that she was talking to me not just pretending to talk to someone. "I'm not Grandma." "Yes you are baby's Grandma because I'm baby's Mommy. So, can you watch her or not?" What a smart cookie she is. "It is going to cost you." "Well, huh, how much? I got money in my piggie bank. How about $10? Sound good?!?" Lets just say I am not no Grandma.

3. It was 7 AM on a Sunday morning and Josie was wide awake already playing with her baby. She was feeding her baby with a spoon. I asked her "so what good things is baby eating?" "Chicken." "Chicken for breakfast?" "And applesauce (sarcasticly)" "Baby doesn't like the chicken she keeps spitting it out like Ogdan and she is making a huge mess." Ogdan will not even open his mouth for a spoon and if you do get any type of food in his mouth he spits it out everywhere.

4. If you ask her what baby eats, she responds "booby milk" and then acts like she is nursing her own baby.

Sitting On His Own

There is always milestones that children hit that simply just amaze you. Ogdan is 7 1/2 months old and has officially mastered the sitting on his own with no help. This means you no longer have to prop pillows or items up behind him. He is a big boy who can sit all on his own. He is loving being able to sit up and not have to lay down. The toys he now can play with just amazes him. He may not be crawling (he only army crawls) or eating any type of food, but he sure can sit on his own. What a big boy!

Awesome Weather!

With Fall comes the cooler temperatures, but oh is it worth it sometimes. We have been spending a lot of time outdoors getting our fun in the sun while we still can. Before to long it will be far to cold to be playing outside, so we have been hitting it hard outside until dark. Josie and Ogdan love to swing, so that is where 90% of our outdoor fun is spent. Josie has been practicing how to pump her legs to make herself go all by herself. It is a skill in practice. Ogdan just loves to watch her. She is an excellent big sister and helps push him, which he absolutely loves.

What a fashion statement...a dress and rain boots! If you look good why not, right?!?

Go Jacob Go!

For the last few weeks, we have been going to watch Cousin Jacob play soccer. He is quite the player. We enjoy every weekend cheering him on as he runs up and down the field. Last weekend, Josie took her pom pons to be his very own personal cheerleader. It was so cute and funny I might add. The week before, she brought her camera she got for her birthday and was his personal photographer. It was like she was the paparazzi and he was someone famous. The camera just kept snapping. It is amazing and fun to watch 3 and 4 year olds play soccer. Start them out young, right?!?

Go Bears!

The football season has finally begun. That means sorry Cubs attire out with you and in with the Bears! We all know that when football begins it is a sure sign that Fall is here. Fall is a great time of year to outdoors and that is what we plan on doing in the upcoming weeks. Here are a few photos of our little Bears fans rooting for our team before a big game. I guess we can put it on our bucket list to attend a Bears game like we did the Cubs. We went to a Cubs game 2 years ago, so it is just fitting to add the Bears to our list. Man our list is growing fast.

Josie watching Ogdan's every move. What a mother hen!

And Who Dressed You?

Last week, Brent was home with the kids while I was at work. He took them into town and such during the day. When I got home, oh course Ogdan was really excited to see me, as he always is. We went inside for a snack and a diaper change. When I went to go and change his diaper I encountered something odd. I had to double check myself and low and behold I was right. Brent had put his pants on backwards. I scooped Ogdan up and went to find Brent. I asked him if he has had a diaper change since he had been home from town and he said no. I then had to explain to Brent that the buttons and zippers on pants go on the front not the back. He had taken my son into town with his pants on backwards. I really home that no one really saw him. Lets just say we got a good chuckle out of the situation.
