1st Place

Josie and Ogdan were the hit of the local Halloween Parade. I do have to say that there were pretty darn cute. Every year the local town has a Halloween parade where all the local children come up sporting their creative Halloween costumes and parade around the town and then join up at the park for a costume contest. This year I am happy to present that....

Josie and Ogdan WON FIRST PLACE!!! Yeah!

They won a huge candy bar and some cold hard cash.

Debbie came up with the idea to put the sign "Sometimes I get boiling mad at my brother" on the side and I think that just set the stage. I spent all week preparing the stove for Ogdan and he was perfect the entire time. He just sat in his boiling water pot and watched all the wonderful costumes pass him by. People were laughing at him as we would pass them.

I do not mean to be full of myself or my children, but I must have the cutest kids in town. When Josie was a baby and it was her very first Halloween she recieved 3rd place in the costume contest for being Little Red Riding Hood. I guess Ogdan stepped up the bar for them by winning 1st place for being the lobster in the pot. All I can say is that I better start now coming up with a good idea for next year. I waited until the week before to make the stove and boy was it a job. I need to start earlier next year. I know I say that every single year.

WAY TO GO ON GETTING FIRST PLACE!

Sad Day

Today is yet again another sad day. Today is my mother's birthday. The years come and go so quickly. It is so hard to believe that she would have been 54 years old. Still a young age really. Things happen for a reason I know, but sometimes it just makes you stop and think what the reason truly is. So this is to you Mom...Happy Birthday! Love you!

8 Months Old

Can you believe that Ogdan is already 8 months old!?! He has grown up so much in the past month. His arm crawl is getting faster (he does not crawl on all 4's), he is pulling himself up onto short objects (or over them), his babbles sound more and more like he is actually trying to talk human, and he will stand up and holding something if you stand him up. Man, that is a lot in only a month. The eatting thing still is not happening, however. He just simply has no interest in eating anything from a spoon. He still will not open his mouth for a spoon, but in time I am sure he will. I am in no hurry. Keep him little as long as he will let me, right?!?

The best part of this month is he will now reach for you to pick him up and hold him. I love that feeling. And he will now give you nice slobbery wet kisses if you ask and he is in the kissing mood.

Jumping Fool

Josie loves jumping on trampolines. She I think has wore out the one my cousin gave her that is in the basement. Well, Grandpa Terry rented a huge blow up bouncer for the company weenie roast. She stayed in the bouncer the entire night more or less. That was when we were not on the hay ride or eating hot dogs of course. The plus side of having Grandpa rent it was that we got to use it with no one else there. Mommy got a turn, Ogdan got a turn, and from some photos below you can see that Grandma Debbie even joined in on the fun. I just wish we could have gotten Daddy and Grandpa Terry in there. I would have loved to have seen that one.

Fire House Open House

Josie, Ogdan, Grandma Debbie and I all ventured up to the local Fire House for their annual Open House. There were pony rides, balloons, food, and of course fire truck rides. In past years when we have went, Josie HATED the ponies. She would not even let you get close to them without throwing a huge fit. Well, this year was a little different. She actually wanted to go for a ride and asked to go. Of course we let her and she enjoyed herself. She got one of the last pony rides before they stopped giving them because they said the ponies were tired. To funny!

We stood in line for a while to get a balloon from the balloon man. He was the hit of the open house. Kids both big and small loved him! He made the coolest things all made out of balloons and the choices the kids had were endless. He had a board with everything that he would make and all you had to do was tell him what you wanted. There must have been a good 30+ things on it. Josie went back and forth about what to get, but decided on the really good fish on a pole. She loved it!

Josie and I ventured on a fire truck ride. Ogdan and Grandma stayed back at the fire house. Ogdan was to sleepy to go. He was an angel the entire time sleeping on and off while we were there. Josie and I got to ride in the very front of the truck. She thought she was the stuff.

Overall, we had a great afternoon and can not wait until next year.

Kids say the Darnedest Things

Josie cracks us up everyday with her comments, stories and such. Here are a few conversations we had in the last week that will get your bellies laughing.

Josie: "Mom, what are you doing?"
Mommy: "Talking to Daddy."
Josie: "Well, I really don't care anyways."

Setting-driving in the car to the babysitters in the morning
Josie: "Mommy, when I get older I am going to drive a car just like you."
Mommy: "That is right Josie when get get bigger you can drive just like Mommy. You are so smart!"
Josie: "And when you get smaller, you can ride in the back in my car seat. Does that sound like a deal?"

Lets just say kids say the darndest things. God love them!

Dr. Josie

We all say that our children are going to grow up and become successful individuals. We always want the best for our children. Some people say we live our dreams through our children. You know having them do what we always wanted to do or buy them items we never had while growing up.

Well, Josie has found her calling. Her name is no longer just plain old Josie...it is
Dr. Josie.

Josie for her birthday got a doctor kit. She absolutely loves it! She gives Ogdan shots almost everyday, so he won't get sick she tells him. She even doctors it up with a band aid when she is done. I just have to laugh at her because she will make comments like, "it won't hurt a bit," "I have to go to work at the hospital," "don't move" and the list goes on and on. Well, the kit did not come with the doctor coat and who can be a doctor without the proper attire right?!? So, I purchased her this doctors outfit, well surgeons outfit. She got to pick between the doctor's white coat or scrubs and she wanted the scrubs.

I know what am I doing buying her more things right after her birthday and before Christmas, but it was buy one dress up outfit get one free and her Halloween costume was the other one, so it was free people.

So, the next time you need doctors advice give Dr. Josie a call. Her office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00 PM with a lunch from 11:30-12:00 and naptime from 1:00-3:00.

Wanting to Be Like Sissy

I could not contain myself and had to share these photos with all of you. I always say that Ogdan is soaking up everything that his big sister does. This means the good and the bad. He constantly has to know where his big sissy is and what she is doing. If not, he goes and finds her. The other day, Josie came out sporting these goggles off of one of her toys. She just looked funny and we laughed together. Minutes later I hear this hystarically luaghing from the other room. I peek in the livingroom from the kitchen and Josie had shared her goggles with Ogdan and she was laughing at him. It was the funniest sight I had ever seen. I could hardly contain myself and almost peed my pants laughing. Brent thought it was a hoot also. I hope you enjoy the photos. I know I do.
