New Family Addition

On January 31st, just 4 weeks to the day that Nash was born my sister, Jamie, welcomed her newest addition into the family. Drew Alan is just handsome. We are so blest to have two new babies in the family. Jamie's and my kids are all so close. There is only 9 months difference between Jacob and Josie, and 9 months between Presley and Ogdan, but this time there is only 4 weeks difference between Nash and Drew. It is great that they each have someone their age to play with.

Congrats Jamie!

Dreaming

I always wonder what babies dream of. They have not experienced that much yet to really know anything. So, when they smile, what are they smiling at? Who knows but it is so sweet!

TV anyone!

We are always downstairs in the basement with with a warm fire. Nash loves to sit in front of the fire in his bouncer chair when we are not holding him. Well, the kids were busy watching their favorite movie Tangled and had to laugh when I looked at Nash. It really looked like he was hurting his neck. What he was doing was trying to turn his head to the sound that he was hearing. That or he really wanted to watch Tangled also. Don't worry after I took the photo I fixed him in his chair and then turned him towards the tv.

Quick Fixes

With kids any helpful hint one can give about things is always welcome in my house. I was reading in a magazine and found these helpful hints to different things and thought I would share. I have not tried them, but once I do I will let you know if they work. I just thought they were interesting.

Kid Graffiti
For crayon doodles on the wall, dip a damp rag in baking soda and scrub the marks away. Because baking sold is a mild alkali, it will remove acid stains caused by fruit juice, too.

Water Rings
Use mayonnaise to get rid of water rings left by drinking glasses on wood furniture. This method works even better if you add ashes for abrasion. Another recommended abraive lubricant mixture is non-gel toothpaste plus baking soda.

Sticky Photos
If you toss photos ino a box, waiting for a good opportunity to sort them, chances are some will stick together. Set you hair dryer to low and blow gently to loosen the photos without damage.

Crayon Marks
Did your little artist wield her crayons on your good wood furniture? Rub a cloth dipped in mayonnaise over the marks, then watch them disappear. (Mayonnaise brightens yellowed piano keys, too.)

Career Path?!?

Josie got some new nail polish for Christmas that she is absolutely in love with. She is always wanting to paint her nails and mine. I was in desperate need of a new pedi, so I let you paint my toes. She did an excellent job and took her time. If she got a little messy, she would say I am sorry I messed up a little and then continue. Is this a career path for Josie?

Take a look at my beautiful toes.

First Good Snow Fall

On January 13th, we finally had enough snow to have fun in. Josie has been itching to play in the snow all winter season and finally we had enough snow to actually play in. Josie shoveled off the deck, well kind of just a little. She had a blast doing it. What a great little helper she is. Then, Brent hooked up the sled to the four wheeler and sledding they went. Ogdan hated it! I told Brent he would. He only hated it because he wanted to ride of the four wheeler rather than on the sled. Imagine that! The snow was not good enough to make a snowman, so that will have to wait until it snows again. It was really cold outside, so they were not out for long. Hot chocolate and a warm fire was waiting for them when they came in from having fun.

Christmas 2011 Family Photos

As I have said in numerous posts, photos with children can be the "Mission Immpossible." Every year at Christmas, just like getting the kids all together, I like to get a family photo. Remember I was feeling really crumby at this time, but we tried. Here are our family Christmas photos for 2011. It just cracks me up. Sometimes the not so good ones trump good ones. Know what I mean.

Oh, and sorry Josie Mommy did not realize that Mommy's large belly was totally blocking you out of the photo. No one even told me. :)

Christmas 2011 with the family

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday season this year. We are truly blest to be surrounded by so many wonderful people. This year, my sister Jamie hosted Christmas again and it was great. Yummy food, lots of laughs, and who could forget presents. The kids again got spoiled rotten. Josie got her Leappad, which was the highlight of the night. You would have thought you gave her a new car or something she was so excited. She can not put it down. We change the batteries in it daily. Thank goodness I got rechargables of else the battery companies would be my best friend.

Ogdan got a remote control car that he adores. Of course they all got wonderful gifts, but there was too many to mention.

Thanks to all for a great holiday.
