As from my last posting, I stated that on Saturday night we were going to see Jason's band play, so of course Josie could not attend, so Grandma Debbie got here first babysitting experience. Brent came home early from hunting and was able to attend this wonderful event with me. Debbie came over about 8:30 PM to watch Josie. It made here sad however, because Josie was already in bed for the night. So no playing with Grandma this time. We got all dolled up for our first official outing without our little princess, which made me sad. We went to listen to "The 42's." That is the bands name, how they got it I am not sure. Jason (my brother-in-law) plays the drums in this band and it was their first paying gig. Way to go! They were really good. The bar where they played was not in the best of neighborhoods, but surprisingly the bar itself was rather clean for a bar and the crowd was pretty good. The bar is said to be a biker bar, but to tell you the truth I did not see much bikers in there. The good majority of the crowd was "groupies." You know people with the band. Friends. Family. There were a lot of us. I do not have any photos of the band to post, sorry. I forgot my camera in the car and lets just say I was not going to go out in the dark to get it in this neighborhood. We were not 100% sure exactly were the bar was located so we drove past it once not knowing where to park. I said well I guess we will have to go around the block and Brent yelled "NO!" He made me go down several blocks to a
Hardee's and turn around in their lighted parking lot, so you know my hesitation to go back out to the car to get my camera. It made me made however that I forgot my camera, because Jason does not like to play in front of people he gets kind of shy so I was really hoping to take photos. But to much of my surprise he was not nervous at all. We made it there and home with no problems.
To top off the evening, there was this 80 year old man in the bar who could hardly get around taking pictures of all of us. He was a photographer for a magazine called Nightlife. If you know anything about this magazine check it out next time to see if you see my picture it in. He did one large photo with all of us with the band, so perhaps you will see me. Brent chickened out and was not in the photo.
We were only gone for like 3 1/2 hours, but to me it felt like a lifetime. Is that bad? I kept opening up my phone to check and make sure that Debbie did not call and I not hear it and when I
opened up my phone there as my backdrop was a picture of Josie. It made me want to cry several times because I was not home with her. Brent kept telling me that she was sleeping so it really didn't matter. When we got home, we caught Debbie red handed rocking Josie in the glider. She knew she was busted when she was told before we left not to wake her or is she awakes not to go pick her up and let her cry herself to sleep. Debbie said she just could not take it anymore. She was screaming bloody murder. After Debbie left I fed Josie. She seemed hungry which is not like her to get up at 12 AM to eat. Usually she doesn't get up until 5 once she goes to bed. Oh, well.
If any of you are interested in going to hear "The 42's" play next time let me know. I believe they will be playing in December again. They are really good, believe me. I am an honest person and tell it how it is so if they
weren't I would tell you. Everyone knows I don't hold anything back. The more people there to support them the better.
