It's a Reindeer...No It's Josie

Here are just a few cute pictures that I took over Christmas. Josie and Jacob had matching reindeer antlers, so of course we had to get a few really good pictures of them sporting them around the living room at Papa Dave's house on Christmas Eve. Not to worry these photos were taken before the big guy in red appeared and scared the kids half to death.

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

We hope that everyone had a very wonderful Christmas. Christmas is a time to enjoy the fellowship of the ones that you love and that is exactly what we did. Oh, and eat until your belly can not hold a single morsal of food anymore.

Christmas this year is still going on for us here in our house. We have Christmas at my Grandmother's house tonight, so Josie will yet again be opening presents. She loves to tear at the paper and see what surprises are inside. It is so cute.

Here are a few Christmas Day photos. Enjoy!

Santa...NO!

My father purchased a Santa suit just for his loving Grandchildren. What a nice man. Last year, my sister took my nephew to the mall to have his picture taken with Santa and it was like they were robbing them it cost so much for a not very good photo, so my Dad decided in the long run it would be very cost efficient. And that it definitely is. So, on Christmas Eve he slipped out of the room, put on the Santa suit and reappeared to give the kids their Christmas presents. Lets just say it did not go very well with the kids. As soon as "Santa" appeared from down the hall, both kids went running in the other direction for safety and started to cry. They did not like him one bit. I would have thought Jacob would like him and when Josie saw that Santa was OK, she would be fine. However, this year was the exact opposite. Because Jacob did not like him Josie 100% did not like him. We did manage to get a few really funny photos of the kids with Santa though. What would Christmas be without Santa photos right?! Whether they are good or not.

Thanks Dad for being the big guy in red. Hopefully, next year will go a little bit better.

"You are not my Papa Dave...Where is he?"

Santa Clause is coming to town!!! "Santa can go right out of town...I don't care!"

"I don't want to get any closer to that Big Man in Red. Don't make me. PLEASE!"

"Dada, I said PLEASE NO!"

"I don't need anything for Christmas. Just please let us go."

You are never to old to get your photo taken with Santa.

What a Runt!

Today, we ventured out into the cold weather to go to Josie's 15 month doctors appointment. It was suppose to be on Friday, but due to the ice storm it was moved to today. It did not bother us any because first of all it was a lot warmer today and the roads were definitely not as bad. Everything looks good the doctor said. She has a nasty cold including the runny nose and cough, poor little girl. So, we discussed what we could do to help her feel better. Hopefully, she will be back to herself in a few days. She had to get her MMR shot today, which let me tell you she absolutely positively did not like one bit. She cried for about 5 minutes solid. Poor girl. She slept the entire way home and even took a 2 hour nap when we got home. Usually when you get her out of the car she wakes up, but not today. Brent got her out of the car seat without waking her carried her in the house and was able to take off her shoes, however he did not even attempt the jacket. It is just a light jacket, so we thought it would be ok.

So, as for the title of my post "WHAT A RUNT!," that is exactly what Josie is.

Weight - 19 lbs 9 oz - 7%-tile
Height - 30.5 inches - 53%-tile
Head - 45 cm - 25%-tile

This means that she is extremely small for her age, but the doctor was not a bit concerned. She has always been small. This technically means that since she is under 20 pounds she should still be in her newborn car seat. You know the one she came home from the hospital in. Well, we had to retire this car seat last week. She is just to tall for the seat, so we had her new car seats installed and she is loving them.

"What can I say, I am just going to be small and very cute!"

What a Crab!

Josie has been a little on the crabby side lately. I knew she was not feeling very well when she simply does not act like her happy little self. She has been very tired in the mornings and I have to wake her up, which let me just tell you she really does not like. Well, who could blame her right. Last week, she had a nasty cough, but that has past thank goodness.

So, why has she been crabby you ask? Well, two (yes two not one)new teeth just broke the skin this evening. One is not fully through the skin, but is almost there. This makes a total of 8 teeth! Before we know it, she will have all of her teeth. What a big girl!

Santa

On Saturday, we ventured to the annual Breakfast with Santa at Brent's work. Lets just say Josie was not as excited as the other children to see Santa. A few weeks ago, we were at Wal-Mart when Santa was there and we got to meet him. AKA trial run #1. Things that day did not go very well and Josie did not want to have anything to do with him. So, Saturday (AKA trial run #2),we were hoping things went better than that one day. However, it did not. Josie does not like the fat man in red. Not one little bit. Josie will be seeing Santa on Christmas Eve, so I pray that the 3rd time will be the charm. Here are a few Breakfast with Santa photos. Enjoy!!

Fanny

Josie cracks Brent and I up daily. She is always doing cute funny things. For instance, for some reason we always tend to get a picture of Josie showing us her behind. It is like she is purposely trying to get a behind picture taken.

The other day Josie was getting into a cabinet in the kitchen that she knows she is not to get into and was playing with the toaster. Brent went over and moved her and told her "no, no." We hardly ever tell her no, but when this was like her 100 time being told not to get into the cabinet within 5 minutes, he just had to tell her no. Well, Josie did not agree with this decision he made and fussed a little bit, started to shake her finger at Brent and said "no, no" to him. Like he was the one that was doing something wrong. I just simply had to crack up laughing, even Brent laughed even though she was in trouble.

Here are a few funny pictures of Josie showing off her little fanny. You tell me if you think these are funny.

Rub-a-Dub-Dub....Josie in the Tub!

Josie is becoming such a big girl so fast. She loves bath time. You ask her if she wants to get in the tub and she runs as fast as her little legs can run to the bathroom to get in the tub. It is so cute. She loves to splash around in the warm water. Yes, warm water. If her bath water is not warm enough for her likings she really lets you know it by YELLING. She is definitely like her Mommy and loves warm baths. She has learned how to be such a big help in the tub. She will take the washcloth and will wash her own face. It is adorable! I think she would live in the tub if we would let her. When Brent helps with the bath, he loves to make her have "CRAZY" hair. Josie's hair is long enough to spike up, but not long enough to put up in a ponytail yet. Darn. She has such fine hair as it is now. Here are a few of our cute tub photos from the other night.

Happy 25 to Me!

Today, I am celebrating my 25th birthday! 25! Crazy, huh. My father asked me if I felt old and I said "no," well that was until he informed me that I was a quarter of a century old. Well, when you put it in terms like that then, yes I am old.

For the last few years, I have not had to get out of bed on my birthday. It always seems to snow on my birthday enough to cancel school. However, it did snow today, but not enough for school to be canceled here. Bummer, I know. So, to celebrate my birthday I went to work, taught my students, and now am curled up with Josie on the couch while Brent is a work. So, as you can tell my birthday is just another typical day now in our household now that Brent is on nights. Josie and I just curl up together warm in front of a fire and watch a little TV before she heads off to bed.

25 is a milestone birthday for some people, and it is for me, but I think it will really set in when I turn 30.

Well, until next year....Happy Birthday to Me!

Happy Turkey Day 2008!

It is amazing, but sad how quickly our little stinker, Josie, has grown up in the past year. Here is a picture of Josie last year on Turkey Day when she was almost 3 months old, compared to this years Turkey Day photo when she is almost 15 months old. Wow, what a difference one year can make.

This was Josie's first Thanksgiving (2007)

2nd Thanksgiving (2008)

I hope that everyone enjoyed lots of love, joy, laughter, and of course turkey and pumpkin pie.
