Today, Josie encountered another darn sting. Not just one wasp sting, oh no that would to dumb. No, she was stung two times today at the same time in the exact same knee. We had our guests over this afternoon and they were up playing in her playhouse and in the little pool when she came over to me whining again about the knee that she was stung in last week. She reminds me every once and a while that she has an owie. I kindly say I know it hurt honey, but it is ok. She went off doing her thing. It was not until about 5 minutes later I noticed that she had been stung two times right next to each other in the same knee. She was not reminding me of her one sting but to tell me about the 2 new ones. I felt so bad. However, they were not bothering her at all she never even shed one tear. What a champ! That is when I starting doing a little detective work. Where was she getting these stings from? Where was their nest? I looked in her house and say nothing last week and so I looked again today nothing. Well, that was until my sister and I flipped the entire house over. And you guessed it there was a nest inside. It was up under the kitchen part of the playhouse. I thought it was a straight piece however there are spots that go up. There was a nest and 2 wasps in it when we flipped it. No wonder Josie gets her stings in the knees. The stove is right at knee level and she likes to sit on a stool pulled up to it. Poor thing. So, today I was on a mission to kill all of the wasps I could find to protect my Josie girl from getting yet another sting after having 3 in the exact same knee. At the end of the day today, I ended up killing 6 wasps all while sitting on the deck. I hope there is not another nest somewhere else close by. If so, I will find it and they will be goners also. Plus, the bug guy is due to come and spray also.
Poor Josie, but she is a really trooper and by the looks of it has a high pain tolerance. I would have screamed and cried bloody murder, but not Josie she just goes on playing.
