For about a week now, Josie and I have been talking about getting her hair cut. She is almost 3 and has never had it cut. It is becoming rather bad and needed to be evened out and all of the slit ends taken care of. So, I made her an appointment with the lady who cuts my hair, Gigi. For the past week, she would make comments like "I don't want Gigi to cut my hair. I want you to cut it. I don't like Gigi's hair." and the list of comments goes on and on. It was not until last night that all of these comments clicked. Josie thought that Gigi was Brent's Grandma Bevo. Bevo has been given the name G.G. (Great Grandma). She thought that she was cutting her hair. Now everything made sense. I had to explain to her that Gigi was not Grandma Bevo, so I started to call her Hair Lady Gigi so that way she would not mix up the two different people.
Today was the day. Josie got her hair cut for the very first time. She was such a big girl. She took her puppy for support if needed, but none was needed she did great. She talked up a storm to Gigi that was until she started to cut her hair. She placed her in the big chair and covered her up with an apron with frogs all over on it. To make sure that she sat still she give her "sucker candy" and Josie was in heaven. She did not move a muscle but at that candy like crazy. She was very quiet that was until she got out of the chair. She was facing the mirror the entire time so she could see what it was that she was doing the entire time. Not one tear fell or whine came out, which is great. Usually kids cry the first time, but not my brave Josie.
For being so good, Josie got to pick a treat. I thought she would pick a slushy since she has become a slushy addict this summer, but much to my surprise she wanted vanilla ice cream with sprinkles on it. Then, of course she wanted Daddy to share his slushy with her since she got ice cream. What a stinker!
So, it is my pleasure to show you the new Josie! Her hair is now even and looks healthy.
It was raining like crazy when we got home from getting it cut. We even sat in the car for a little bit and it lightened up a little but not much. We knew it would be raining for a while so we took a run for it. Lets just say that by the time we ran to the door to get in the house our underwear was even wet. Gross! So, her hair cut looked a lot better per rain storm.
