Starting the Trip Out Right?!

To Myrtle Beach from where live it is a 17 hour car ride. That is without stops, heavy congested traffic, or road construction in which we hit all of the above. Josie was not the best of travelers on the way down. We drove about 9 hours on Friday to get us a little over 1/2 way there. However, we ran into heavy traffic twice which turned our 17 hour drive into 19 hours. She was a pistol the entire drive down (Friday and Saturday). It was one of those moments when Brent and I both thought to ourselves "what did we get ourselves into?" She was crying, whining, and everything else you could think of. She had a Cinderella marathon going. I think she ended up watching something like 4 times in a row. She kept unplugging the cord or we would hit a huge bump and it would freeze or something. She kept complaining that her mouth hurt, which I am sure it did. She had 2 blisters in her mouth from sucking on the inside of her cheeks. Jamie had picked me up some Tylenol for me since I was completely out and she had been ill the days following up to our departure. She had to get it in the pharmacy however since County Market was out. We thought that giving her some may help with the pain, however it was nasty. Josie hated it and let me tell you Brent and I tried it and it was in Josie's words "disgusting." So, we used it as our being good tactic. Nice parenting we know. When she would complain we would ask her if she wanted some medicine. She would respond "Aunt Jamie's medicine? No, its disgusting. Yuck!" and then be good for a little while. We told her that if she was not good she would have to take it. I even bought her a surprise for if she was good on the car ride and no she did not get it when we got there. She kept asking for her special surprise and I kept telling her she was not good so she did not get it. If she was good on the way home then perhaps when we get home she could have it.

Ogdan was our travel angel. He was such a good boy. He played with his toys, watched Josie throw her fits, and slept the entire way. However, it would not be Ogdan without our first night there without a major blow out. See below:

This is him almost once a week if not more in the mornings. It is amazing how much more boys pee then girls.
