A Little Bit of Country!

Some people have asked me about the dresser that I was re-finishing and here it is. This is a very old dresser that Brent had when he was younger. It was a dark cherry color and needed a little TLC. So, I gave it a much needed face-lift and this is what we got. The drawers are painted the same color as the nursery walls and the yellow that is the top and trim matches the yellow in the bedding and curtains. It looks great in the room.

What are the handles made of you ask? Well, let me put it this way since it was such an old piece of furniture it was missing some much needed hardware. However, after weeks of searching in a variety of different stores and online my hardware search was going absolutely no where. It was such an odd size that companies no longer made hardware in that size and special ordering was not even an option due to the size. I was very depressed. However, we came up with an idea. Since our theme is a farm we used twine to make the handles. Pretty cleaver, huh! It fits the decor of the room great and was very cheap, I may have to add. Much cheaper that buying one handle in itself.

I am so proud of this piece that perhaps, I should become an interior decorator. I love to do things like this. However, I decided I better not quit my day job. Oh, that is right I do not have a day job. I crack myself up.
