Early Signs of Labor

There are tons of signs to show that a pregnant woman's body is getting ready for that big and special moment when the baby will soon be on his or her own way. Ok, if you are a man reading this you may want to stop right now. Or if you have children you more than likely have discussed these items with your wife or perhaps not. If you males, read on do not say that I did not warn you about the contents that are ahead.

There are early signs of pre-labor, such signs as:

lightening and engagement
increased pressure in the pelvis and rectum areas
change in energy level
change in vaginal discharge
bloody show
loss of the mucous plug
diarrhea
contractions
loss of weight

according to all of your Mommy-to-be books.

Man that is a lot of signs, but they help you prepare for what is ahead. With these signs, you can either go into labor soon or even a few weeks, it just depends on your little one.

Well, lets just say that my body personally is changing. I am not going to get into any details because that is kind of personal information. Information that sometimes Brent does not even want to listen to, but he does to make me feel better. Besides Brent, my sister Jamie is the only one that I feel really comfortable talking about some of these issues with besides the doctors and nurses. Everyone keeps asking me about different things regarding some of these signs. Lets just say that when I look at this list, I have more than likely 4 of these signs. AHHHHH! That means the baby is coming soon, but how soon. It could be tonight, tomorrow, or even next week.

As you all know from my posting the other day, after the doctors appointment that I am dilated to a 2 already and 65% thinned out. Well, that was Wednesday and it is now Friday, so perhaps it has increased I am not sure. We will find out again on Wednesday, if I make it that long. My sister did not make it to her appointment that close. Her little one came 2 weeks early, so perhaps mine will also. Who knows? Oh, that's right the baby does, but of course is not going to tell us. That little stinker already. But all that I can say is that I can go at any time.

Right now, all that I know is that my father is bear hunting and will be back on Sunday, so if it is coming really soon I have to wait until then. My mom will be with me through all of this, as she has always been in spirit, but when the day comes I am going to need my Daddy to tell me that everything is just fine. Yes, that is what Brent is for, but on a day like this when a woman gives birth to her first child she just wants her Mommy. I know that sounds odd, but it is true. Well, I can guarantee that I am going to want my Daddy. Is that odd?

Stay tuned to find out what the 411 is tomorrow!
