Grant's Farm

On Sunday, we ventured to Grant's Farm. It was really neat! When you arrived you waited in line for the only way into the farm to pick us up. It was by tram. You loaded the tram and it took you through the farm to the center where you got off to see other animals. The tram took you around the farm and through the open ranges that housed lots of different animals. Such animals as: Red Deer (from Asia), bison, long horns, elk, some kind of donkeys, and lots of other animals. There were a whole bunch of wild turkeys running about. The tour guide on the tram stated that they never put the turkeys on the property. They migrated there themselves and liked it so much that they just stayed and made Grant's Farm their new home. Josie loved the tram ride!

Once inside the center of the farm, we got off of the tram and went to view other interesting animals such as the cacabara, elephants, parrots, camels, just to name a few. Josie even got to pet a parrot! I think the parrots name was Eddie or something like that if I remember correctly. She thought that was pretty cool! She made us laugh several times uncontrollably when she would plug her ears because the parrots would squeel at the top of their lungs and she thought they were being way to loud. If only we could do that when Josie was yelling.

What Brent thought was really neat that once inside of the park, since it was established by Busch Beer you got FREE BEER! That is right, I said FREE BEER! For every person age appropriate the farm gave you 2 free beers per person. They were not the little sample beers, but regular size beer drinking glasses. Brent was in hog heaven. I told him that he could have my 2 beers and I would drive since I am not a beer drinking kind of gall. I like my champagne in a fancy glass kind of gall.

Josie really enjoyed herself, at least it seemed like she did. It was very difficult on our trip to take a good photo of her because she was so fixated on the animals and what was going on around her that she did not want to look at the camera and pose. So, sorry you will have to settle with what we could take of our little angel.

Here are some elks and the white one is an albino elk

Brent thought it was funny how these ducks were digging in the mud.

Cakabara - AKA huge rodent

Some kind of donkey, sorry I forgot what kind

bison

Wild turkey that set up home at Grant's Farm

These are not baby deer with spots it is a type of deer

Josie loved the tram ride and looking at all of the wild animals

Long horns just chilling

A Mommy elk feeding her young

Look at Josie's face isn't it hollarious. She is looking at a camel. Josie doesn't like horses or anything that could kind of look like one so I guess she would catagorize a camel in that category also.

Josie petting her very first parrot! What a big girl!

This parrot would do tricks during a show. He would do flips around each of the rings. It was pretty cool!

Gotta give Mommy some lovings!

She loved the parrots enough that she kept wanting to pet them.

Daddy finally handed over the camera to Mommy and ventured out to look at the animals with Josie. Thank goodness! I thought I would never get a photo of those two together on vacation.

Josie was looking at the camels from a distance.

Josie really does not like camels. Can you tell?

This face is priceless! This is the look she gave when she saw the enormous elephants! It was the same look when she got her very first ice cream cone that was bigger than her head.

Josie was runny to give Daddy a big kiss, plus a bite of his snow cone. Which I might add was really yummy just ask Josie.

Josie did not even like looking in a the horses through thier stalls. What is her deal with horses I do not know, all that I know is that she will never want one.

Josie struting her stuff like she owns the joint or something.

Again, no camels for Josie.

Daddy here I come!

Gotta love vacation!
