First Fishie Catch!

Josie loves to go fishing with her Daddy. She sees a fishing pole and just simply goes crazy yelling "Fishie" and doing the sign for fish in sign language. Daddy and her go fishing at the pond at home, but not to much action usually happens for them there.

Over the weekend, when we went to the farm, we thought it was only appropriate to throw in Josie's fishing pole. If we didn't and she saw others fishing she would go nuts. Brent cast her pink princess fishing pole out for her to the "good spot" and handed her the pole. Within a minute, she had a bite. Brent set the hook for her but made her do all the work reeling it in, of course with a little of Daddy's help. She was so excited! She had done it. She caught her very first fishie!!! YEAH JOSIE!! She was thrilled to death. She admired the fish and at one time was going to give the fishie a kiss before we stopped her stating that it would be gross.

Brent let the fishie go back and re-cast her pole. And the same thing happened again. That little rascal caught another fish at the drop of a hat. What a little fisherwoman she is. The second fishie made her even more excited, but then was through with the shore fishing and wanted to get in the boat. So, off we went.

Fishing in the boat was not as fun for Josie. Not as many fishies to catch. However, while resting in the boat we did encounter a baby fawn (deer) it got up from under a tree and ran through the woods as we admired it. Josie thought that was cool.

Brent let her drive the boat back. It was a paddle boat, so she just had to steer the handle. Lets just say, we went in circles with her driving. We will have to practice that one.

Here are a few photos of Josie's first fishie catch!

Where are those fishies at?!

Here fishie, fishie!

Josie reeling in her first catch!

I did it!!!

Wow! That is one big fishie for such a small girl!

If you can not tell from the ear to ear grin on Josie's face, she is excited to have just caught her very first fishie. Congrats Josie!

I'm not touching that Daddy. I will just watch you take the fishie off of the hook and throw it back.

You know that you are a real man when you use your daughter's pink princess floating fishing pole when she is done with it.
