I am talking about the good old 1990 Mazda. This precious gem has been sitting in our yard next to the garage for the last 5 years and has not moved a muscle. It's tires were completely sunk into the ground and the tires were flat. Why you ask didn't we drive this vehicle? Well, it had issues of its own. Not reliable at all and for some reason after multiple attempts to get it fixed no one could really figure out what was wrong with it. They would fix one thing and it would work temperarely and then it would break again. So, parked it went.
One of the big factors in why we kept this precious gem for so long was the fact that the title was lost. Debbie swore she gave it to Brent when he moved out many moons ago and Brent swears she did not. Oh well, who cares. So, we filed for a lost title. Let me just tell you this is where the state really screws us over. Brent went to file for a new title. He told the man or lady I don't remember that all he wanted was a title so that we could junk the car. They said it did not matter it is all the same cost. So, $95 is what it took to get a title to move it out of our yard. What?!? I know.
Moving the car was not very easy, due to it having flat tires (I don't even think you could air up the tires) and being sunk into the ground. Brent had fun playing with his tractor to get the car to move. At times the tractor back tires were even off the ground. But, he did move it. Lets just say the car took a beaten however. Windows were sattered, doors dented, and tail lights now non-existant. It was funny to watch. Brent kept stating "oops" when he would break something new.
Bryant was there to observe this moving ordeal. We both had to laugh till our tummy's hurt at Josie during this. She stood behind us and yelled "You can do it Dad! I know you can!" What a little cheerleader. At one time she yelled "Dad can you hear me...I said you can do it!" all while clapping. What a sweetheart!
At one time the car was all the way on its side to poke holes in the gas tank. It had 6 gallons of nasty gas in it. So, what did my pyromanic husband do???? He poured it on the brush pile and had a fire. OMG! Bryant and him knew that lighting his with a match was not a good idea, so they came up with another one. A flare gun! Oh my, I know. So, they poured the gas on the pile and back we stepped. Back far. I had the video camera instead of the regular camera just for insurance purposes just in case it caught the barn on fire. Bryant grabbed the flare gun and off he shot...right over top of the pile and into the pond. Attempt #2...missed again. Now, we were out of flares, but don't worry we had more in the house. Now, it was Brent's turn. Ok, now it was attempt #3 and they call themselves hunters. No wonder the deer get away. So, Brent shoots and he misses. Come on guys! It went right over the top and down the hill. Brent was walking over to Bry to get another flare when....BOOM! It caught fire. Since, the brush pile was on a hillside the gas ran down. So, when Brent missed it caught the gas on fire down the hill and up it came to the pile. Flames were enormous. It was awesome to see it egnite at the beginning. Flames shot out a good 5 feet at first from the sides. And I have it all on video. The height of the flames were taller than the barn.
The next day, Brent and his two brothers loaded the car up and away it went forever. We got a woping $145 for our gem. Ok, so $95 to replace title, $145 of the car, which comes to a grand total of $50 profit for the car. We should have just donated it to the fire department and perhaps we would have gotten a bigger tax right off. But, oh well it was gone.

Wow, there is a lot of room on that side of the garage
