I hope everyone out there is feeling good. Our household here has been under the weather now going on a week now. Yuck! Brent is the lucky one that has not contracted something yet, but I have a feeling it is just a simple matter of time. Josie has some type of a stomach bug, at least I think so. She has been a little crabby, tired, and having some bowel issues. Me on the other hand has some nasty cough thing going and at times can barely speak. I sound like death when I talk. Since it has been a week, I am really optimistic that we are on the downhill stroke of these nasty bugs.
With all of this going on, I keep pondering over whether or not to get the flu shot or not. My OB strongly encouraged me to get a shot for several reasons. 1. I'm pregnant and if I were to get ill could be hospitalized very quickly 2. I work at a location that is a breeding ground for germs I am not one to get all scared over shots and such, but is it truly safe to give pregnant women these vaccines? I saw something on the news that only 1 in 6 pregnant women actually listen to thier doctors and get the seasonal flu shot. And now they will soon have the H1N1 shot also. I am on the fence about the issue. Do I get them or not? One or both? I have heard that over 100 pregnant women have died from H1N1. What truly are my chances of getting it. Think about it...how many of you wash off the shopping cart or basket everytime you go to the store? Wash your hand before eating out? Think about even drive thru? I am so confused and have no clue what to really do.

I'm going to get the flu shot. If it does nothing but help or prevent then what is there to be afraid of? I vote to get it!
