Making Progress

As all of you know we have had our Summer project all Summer and have yet to get started on it. Our Summer project was to tear down the old garage and build and new and improved one in its place. Well, it has not happened yet. The tearing down portion was easy and has been down since April, but the rebuilding has yet to take place. Our deadline has always been by the end of October and I keep telling Brent it still is the end of October. Brent wants to build and do everything himself. More power to you. But he just sits on the deck and stares at the giant mud pit and just simply pictures a building there. So, I made some phone calls to get the ball rolling. We are having he floor professionally done. You can not have a building without a good foundation, so we better at least get that portion right. Right?!? We have been on the list for over a month now and they informed us the end of September. Well, the end of September is getting closer and as the days pass the more excited I get because soon at least we will have a start to a garage. We can then park on solid ground and not in the mud and Josie will finally have a place to ride her bike instead on just on the sidewalk.

So, with that being said we had to start prepping for the start of our project. There is/was this huge tree that sat next to the garage. After much talking, we decided the tree had to come down. It made excellent shade, but it was going to be in the way during building. Its leaves would clog the gutters and since the building is going to be tall it had to be cut half off to not hit the building. So, the final decision was made and the tree came crashing down. Oh course, Brent did not mind. Any excuse to use a chain saw. YEAH! More progress was made.

We have a call into the contractor so hopefully now we can get a date set and the ball rolling.
