Yesterday, Brent took Josie to the doctors for her 1-year appointment. Can you believe that? I really wanted to go, but with starting a new job was unable to get the time off already. I did not want to have to spend 1 of my only 3 personal days to take her, so Brent took her. The doctor said she is looking good. Here are her stats:
Height - 29 inches - 48 %-tile
Head - 25 cm - 48%-tile
Weight - 17 pounds 4 ounces -3%-tile
(At 9-months, she weighed 15 lbs 9 oz. and was in the 3 %-tile. At 6 months, she weighed only 14 lbs 2 oz.) What a little runt. She is gaining on average of about 1 1/2 pounds every 3 months. If you see her jelly rolls you would not think she would weigh so less, but when you pick her up she is light as a feather.
Brent and I always bet before Josie goes to the doctors as to how much she weighs. I guessed 18 1/2 pounds and Brent guessed 20 pounds 2 ounces. I guess we were both wrong. She is still in her infant car seat, the one we brought her home from the hospital in. She received a new car seat for her birthday that is the next step up. However, the doctor said that she must remain in the infant seat until she is 20 pounds. Perhaps, when she is 15 months old she can move to her new seat, but at her rate more than likely not. I think she will probably be more like 18 months old before she will out grown that seat, but we will see.
