While everyone else was already back in bed from doing some major Black Friday shopping, Brent, the kids, and I joined my sister and her clan for the local annual Santa Clause Parade. My sister and I started taking the kids 4 years ago and have gone every year since with the exception of last year because Jacob was sick and in the hospital at that time. It was a little chilly outside, but not to bad. The kids loved seeing all of the different people dressed up in holiday attire, marching bands, floats, and of course who could forget the big guy in red, Santa.
Well, that is all besides the yummy candy that they throw out also. Ogdan was totally game for that after warming up a little to the atmosphere. He would run into the street grab just one candy at a time and then come back and ask you to help him place his yummy treats in his pockets. You could not put it in your pocket it had to be his. Even when his little pockets could hold no more he would not allow you to put them in yours. What a stinker!
After the parade had ended, we ventured out for a yummy lunch together. I have to say that while we were eating Josie cracked me up. My sister asked Josie "So, Josie have you seen Santa yet?" She was meaning seeing him as in sitting on his lap and telling him what she wanted for Christmas. Josie responded with "AH, YEAH! In the parade." Well, duh Jamie! I thought we were all going to pee our pants laughing at this response. What a character Josie has become.
What a great morning to spend with the family getting into the holiday spirit!
