At It Again

So, I have posted that Josie escaped from the sitter's pack-n-play, well this happened both on Thursday and Friday this week. Let me just tell you that we have a professional gymnast here. Josie today did her little gymnastic tricks and did a little Houdini and escaped from her crib. Yes, I said her crib. The one thing that I was hoping would not happen and it did. She was suppose to be taking a nap, however was obviously not. I could hear her in the room talking to herself and playing with her baby from the monitor. It soon turned to her stating "Mama....Mama..." to try to get my attention to come and rescue her. I kind of just chuckled to myself "how cute!" Before I knew it, I heard a thump then Josie let out a few whimpers. Great, I thought, she was jumping in her bed like she always does fell and bumped her head. So, like any good Mommy would do I went to go and check on her and lay her back down for her nap. Instead, when I opened the door she came running to me for a hug. Yes, I said running towards me. SHE HAD ESCAPED! She climbed out of the crib and the thud I heard was her feet hitting the floor. What a little stinker!

I had just told Brent before I laid her down that after nap time we needed to lower her crib to the next notch which is the last one to keep her from even attempting to climb out. Well, I guess we did not do it quick enough.

How does she do it! Let me tell you...We set up our pack-n-play to see how she escapes and let me tell you she has it down to a science. She is so limber that she can lift her leg straight up in the air next to her ear. What she does is hick that leg straight up and then places her ankle over the top. She uses her super baby strength and her leg muscles to pull herself up on the edge and then can escape. She does that quite easily.

We have no other option, but for if she does it again in her crib now what we have lowered it, even though the next notch is only about 1 inch lower is to convert her crib into a toddler bed. We wanted to wait until she was 2, but as you can see we will more than likely not be able to do that. This just ultimately means that our baby girl is no longer a baby, but a big flexible girl.
